Watts said NIL would make the decision for him. Pre NIL era I think we would have had a very good shot at him

Has to be the most "you are a guaranteed starter at LT on day 1" situation in the history of college football recruiting, right?

I can't even be mad at that other than I think he is wasting his time and he will be out of there in a year or two.

Yeah but there is no way CU could have offered him the best NIL package. Absolutely no shot.

It may have been a factor but Colorado is not all competitive in that arena.

Hard to say. Deion might've thought it was worth the investment for good PR and helping get some other players on board. Not to mention if he felt this was going to keep his son upright. I can easily see him making it work to pull one big fish like this in that case.

At the end of the day, that whole program is built on EXTREME variances of haves and have nots within the roster, and the result of that is always going to be internal strife. Colorado cannot consistently compete on the NIL market, but if they want to go all-in on one or two guys they can.

To be fair to Deion he is great at the recruitment surprise move. He has been doing it pretty much every year.

It could be but just highly unlikely. Even with the hire of Deion, CU admin and alums have never been into football like that, even in their heyday. And as terrible as their line was, I can't see them using the bulk for one offense lineman who would bring no buzz. This is the aura of Deion. It is clear to me in his comments. This kid would be at Jackson State if Deion was there.

I do hope Deion gets a decent Oline coach to not set back or ruin this kids career, cause his Oline got worse and worse over the season.

Texas A&M defensive line transfer Lebbeus “LT” Overton recently entered the transfer portal.

Per
@SWiltfong247
, Alabama is one of many schools that have reached out to Overton.

Most recently, Overton followed Alabama’s official Instagram account and Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham.

I really think the transfer portal is how Alabama will finish out the DL class.

I am not sure how the OL class finishes now. Set to host Favour Edwin but he’s more of a long term project.

We did go heavy on OTs in the last class and Pritchett has lots of playing experience this season.

LT is his name/nickname. He's a defensive lineman.

I know the kid said he loved the state of Co and while I don't live there I have a degree from the Colorado School of Mines and we own some rental property in Golden so I appreciate his thoughts on it but I don't think I would choose to play my college ball there, especially at that over rated brothel 45 minutes up the road from my school.

Kewan Lacy canceled his OV to Alabama that was scheduled for next weekend.

This was after hosting Nick Saban in-home on Tuesday night.

Damn.
