It’s not every day that a recruit from Western Pennsylvania receives an offer from Alabama or Ohio State. Peter Notaro received an offer from both on Saturday.

And I would guess both will ultimately be walk-ons. NIL should be able to cover that. So, essentially, those wouldn't count against our numbers (which... 85 is the only number that matters now anyway).

How close are we to 85? We should have a lot of room with all the transfers.

I thought he might get pushed out of this class.

Best of luck to him.

Peter Notaro hasn't been added to the commitment list yet (I know, the commitments are coming in fast).

Zymear Smith is gonna land at Maryland and Johnson will probably end up in Gainesville. They'll be fine.

It's been speculated in this thread (Bama3714) that the punter, Asparuhov, who's included in the commitment list, is (or will be) also a walk on. Of course, I realize that's just speculation. We don't always know who is actually on scholarship, particularly now. NIL has turned everything on its head, doesn't mean much one way or the other if your way is being paid for.

Looks like we have the best average per recruit in the nation according to 24/7. I guess that quantity over quality argument is officially dead

They'll just move their arguments to On3 having Bama lower. They're in full denial mode

Rankings Spotlight: Five questions after critical June evaluations

quote:

WHO IS NO. 1 IN 2025?

The race for No. 1 in the 2025 Rivals250 has never been closer.

Julian Lewis, currently the top-ranked prospect, and five-star Tavien St. Clair have put themselves through every major test possible this offseason and passed with flying colors. Five-star Bryce Underwood worked out at LSU’s camp and participated in a local 7-on-7 tournament with his high school team last month. He looked as impressive as ever in each setting.

Five-stars David Sanders, No. 2 in the Rivals250, along with Dakorien Moore, Devin Sanchez, Justus Terry and Elijah Griffin didn’t workout at any major events in June and barely did any camps this entire offseason.

Is there a four-star who could potentially challenge for No. 1 overall? The only one who fits that description right now is Keelon Russell. The performances by the Alabama commit last month have elevated him into the five-star conversation and, possibly, the debate over No. 1 in the Rivals250.

Ten prospects on five-star watch heading into next Rivals250 refresh

quote:

CB Dijon Lee

Ohio State commits Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord are basically no-brainer five-stars because of their elite size, length and instincts playing cornerback. So if Lee, a new Alabama commit, is basically the same player, and has the same size, length and playmaking ability, why should he not be in the discussion? Lee was phenomenal as a junior, is elite down the field against receivers and only two five-star cornerbacks seems light. We don’t want to fall in love with 6-foot-2 and over corners since the NFL has preferred more bulldog-type CBs lately but these guys are hard to pass up.
