Don't be enamored with the younger guys (Fr and Soph in most cases) unless it's a player who knows your staff and a full eval was done while recruiting..... Having years already at college and experience is key
Both QB starters in the NC Game this year have that in common.

I feel Lane knew his best to compete at Ole Miss was via the portal and this kid had no real interest inLSU for whatever reasons. Maybe it was just Kelly but Lane has a track record with QBs so will be interesting to see if he pushes for this kid

He committed to Samford in July but didn't sign in the early signing period. Looks like he had a lot of small school offers mostly, Vanderbilt was interested also.
His tape looks pretty good to me , he's not a burner but he has decent speed, he catches contested throws well, he scored a good many TD's. He seems like a kid who believed he was better than his ranking and didn't sign hopping he would get a bigger offer.
Probably will not be a diva and appreciate his scholarship, probably not costing a lot either and maybe he's hungry for working hard. May not be a star in the future but worth the gamble to see if he can provide good depth.

He had 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns as a Senior.
