The general rule of thumb is that in a weak QB class, if you're even CLOSE to a first round grade, you should go. You'll wind up going in the first round. Teams aren't suddenly going to stop drafting QBs early... even in off years.

It's the one position where every team in the league will pick you early by half a round or more if you're their favorite guy in the draft and they need a QB.

Yep. Teams want the extra year of contract control on a QB, so if you like them enough for a 2nd then you take them in the 1st

Ty, Mendoza, Moore, the USC kid, and Sellers could all be 1st. And that’s not counting if someone has a crazy combine.

He will probably make more money staying in college.

That would be a huge deal and would at least give us someone to build around on the IOL.

Yeah. I would imagine we would go get someone out of the portal (probably from a smaller school) that wouldn't mind coming in and being a backup. That's soon to be every team's dilemma. It won't just be our dilemma. Nobody is going to have a whole lot of experience behind their starter.

Lloyd was recruited as a true LT type.

Good to know but I’m less concerned about whether he’s at RT or LT vs whether they’re convinced he’s ready to play championship level ball next year.

William Sanders likely at C.

My concern there is that if they thought he was close we probably wouldn’t have seen Vandemark at C, but he does have the offseason to progress.

The hope is that Ty goes pro. We REALLY don't need the issue that would arise with him staying.

If Ty stays we lose Russell and Mack and are starting over from scratch in the QB room come 2027.

Not to say we couldn’t rebuild via the portal there but that position has never been more important than it is moving forward under CKD.

We don’t have to have three, but we damn sure better have one ready to run the whole show.

Is there a one eyed, one leg kicker that can replace Talty?

Williams we just didn’t want. He didn’t play well this year.

Cabell supposedly got NiL from Vandy beyond rev share

If Ty winds up being QB3 in the draft he'd be an idiot not to leave.

WLB: TBD / Metz?
MLB: TBD / Reese?

I think Griffin will be in line for early playing time at one of the spots. I think the staff likes Reese and Metz. Not sure where Cayden Jones fits in. I could see Russaw or Hill potentially playing off the ball some. I do think the transfer portal will be important at that spot to bring in at least one guy if not two.

Going to a franchise like the Steelers at 14 would be the best possible scenario for Ty.

I know it's not a top 5 pick signing bonuses, but better to take a little less on the rookie deal (still millions) and have a chance at a second contract and successful career than go to the Browns or Jets.

I like Ty and really admire that he stuck around and waited his turn. Having said that I don't want to lose Russell because I think his ceiling is as high as any Bama QB in the last 20 years.

Hmm Mack look damn good when he got in. I know we want Russell but i doubt they brought in Mack just for the hell of it.

Do teams that recently changed coaches have a special portal for them in 5 days?

Or do all teams wait till the Jan period?
