You guys thinking Lia is the second coming of Tua are in for a rude awakening.

Lia is better than both those guys, but I'm not convinced he's going to be a guy who starts early in his career.

His athleticism and ability to play the ball in the air at that size have me all

Think I have a favorite prospect in this class now.

Lia will be better then Mac Jones in 2020 or any other QB on the roster.

In reference to my post I never suggested that or assumed that. I said if Jalen decides to come back which might get Mac to transfer, Lia will be the 3rd string QB in the spring. If he is getting reps in the spring while Tyson's family flipped the bill and not signing anything I could easily see him and his family say we had no issues with committing with another QB like Lia as long as we are giving the same chance to compete. The scenario a few on here are suggesting would give Lia the advantage whether he is better or not in the end.

Going in the spring the only thing we know or assume to be correct is that Tua is returning, Lia and Tyson will both be here. Hurts and Mac both may transfer as we do not know. Hurts either option he will benefit from and Mac may not want to sit another year behind Tua if he feels threatened by the 2 freshman. Fall camp could be Tua starter and Lia and Tyson battling for the backup role.

I wasn't really responding to you specifically, but I think many here believe it's almost a foregone conclusion that Lia will succeed Tua as our starter. I'm not so sure that will be the case.

This will never happen, but it would be sweet if Hurts came back, red shirted next year, and then started in 2020 once Tua goes pro. That would give us plenty of time to develop the next guy whether that’s Lia, Mac, Tyson or whoever.

Also, Tua and all his weapons still have at least one more year together! That's such an elite situation- Locks will never get a chance to coach again.. clearly it's special group.
So imagine if he can play a hand in those guys getting even better next year, his HC offer list would certainly get much bigger than just Maryland.
He could possibly end up calling his shot somewhere big.

I don’t think many of us expect Lia to be the second coming of Tua.

Perhaps the second coming of Joe Montana, but not Tua.

Screw Saban's opinion on that.

So what Georgia was better than Notre Dame that year?

Yes? Did you watch both of those games? One of those teams took us to the wire, while the other threw in the towel at half time.

Yes, who walked away from that season not thinking Georgia > Notre Dame?

Bama only beat Georgia by time running out inside the 10 yard line.

Bama was up 35-0 on Notre Dame before letting up.
