I get that he is not a job hopper but he is a midwest guy who was born in Michigan and has spent pretty much all his career at Toledo and Mizzou. Maybe he just wanted out of Miami but he interviewed with the Tampa Bay Bucs before he took this job. I just think he may want an NFL job and Saban is helping him or he may decide to head home when a good opportunity comes up. With that being said I wouldn't be suprised if he stayed for 5 to 7 years.

Did they also pay white to make that hit so the paid ref could call it?

If he goes to the NFL Bo Davis will be eligible next season. Problem solved.
Hell I'd like to add Bo Davis back to the staff even if Kull doesn't go.

Are you interested in Neil Callaway, UA analyst? He was just let go by Helton at USC.

That's possible. He may want to give that a try.

I think this is much less likely. He's been a DL coach for 22 seasons, and has landed in a spot where that position pays him $750k per year. Unless he has decided that he really wants to move up to a DC or head coach position, I don't think he'll leave soon.
If he loves being a DL coach, and that's his end game (he's 51 or so) I won't be surprised to see him stay for a while.
ETA - This is also the most stable HC position in the country. There is zero chance he could suddenly lose his job if Saban is fired. If he loves being a DL coach, he might just be here until Saban retires.

I guess it couldn't hurt to have him as an analys, but I sure don't want him coaching

I'm talking about family and where you may feel more comfortable not necessarily salary or advancement. For instance I would take a little less of a salary to return home to Alabama and be close to my family over the job I have now if I like the position. He will never get paid better than he would be here, but if he wants to be closer to his family and where he grew up he may take less. Not saying that is the case just acknowledging he has spent basically his entire life in one part of the country. Again that could mean nothing and he could be at Bama for a long time, but that is the flipside of not being a job hopper and digging roots in one area.
ETA: The Bills are way worse than the Browns.
ETAA: I wouldn' t be suprised if Derek Anderson takes a job closer to home after this game.

And, Bo Davis has maintained a great relationship with Saban from all that I've heard.

Yea we should have a spot for Davis somewhere.

Thoughts on Wandale Robinson and his decision coming Thursday? Is he a program changer like we believe?!
I like Wandale Robinson a lot as a playmaker who can be hard to handle when it comes to defensive game planning. I think it’s clear he’s headed to Nebraska and will be a huge addition for the Huskers, who need some help on offense. Every team needs catch-and- run playmaker like Robinson who can take a short pass and turn it into a long touchdown and Nebraska is getting a real weapon here if he decides to commit.

Florida Spotlight: Best two-team recruiting battles
quote:
With two the state’s three biggest programs breaking in new head coaches and Miami experiencing a bit of an up-and down season, recruiting in Florida is as interesting as ever. Today, we take a look at some of the two-team battles that are heating up inside the Sunshine State as we hurl toward December’s early signing period.

Trey Sanders -- Florida vs. Alabama
Sanders was committed to Alabama for a long stretch before backing off that pledge prior to the season. Most still see the Crimson Tide as the favorite to land the five-star running back, but Florida is certainly a realistic option as well. Sanders has an older brother at UF and has visited campus enough times to be feel hyper-comfortable around Gainesville.
The same level of comfort, however, is present in Tuscaloosa, where Sanders will take an official visit on Nov. 24. The Gators’ rapid improvement on the field this fall certainly hasn’t hurt their chances, but toppling Alabama on the recruiting trail is nearly as difficult as besting it on the field.

Evan Neal -- Alabama vs. Miami
A prospect that says little when it comes to his recruitment, Neal names a long list of potential landing places, but Alabama and Miami seem to be the most realistic options. The massive tackle will take an official visit to Alabama in November, a trip that will have an enormous effect on his recruitment.
It’s too early to make a call on where Neal will land, but it seems as though Miami may get the last visit, which is certainly worth noting. Other schools could further insert themselves later, but for now this seems to be a two-team battle.

Ishmael Sopsher -- LSU vs. Alabama
This is a battle that is going to go all the way to National Signing Day in February. There may be official visits to other schools taken, but this is going to come down to Alabama and LSU. This is a fight between Nick Saban and Ed Orgeron for one of the top defensive linemen in the country.
Sopsher’s last visit was to Alabama, a couple of weeks ago, and he will see the Crimson Tide play again this weekend when he takes in his first game this season at LSU. There is a strong case for each school. LSU is the home-state school and Sopsher said he and Orgeron have a special connection. Alabama has had some major success under Saban in Louisiana and he is very familiar with Tuscaloosa. This one will go all the way to the end.
Posted on 10/30/18 at 8:03 am to TideSaint
quote:
Wandale Robinson -- Nebraska vs. Kentucky
Robinson is having a monster senior season on the field and he’s also been very busy off of it, taking several official visits around the country. He has a final five schools, Alabama, Ohio State, Purdue, Kentucky and Nebraska headed into a Thursday decision, but make no mistake -- this one is really coming down to a two-team battle.
Nebraska is pitching Robinson an immediate impact role in the Huskers high-powered offense, while Kentucky is pitching him on the potential to stay home and be a star and set himself up for life after football with the strong alumni base in the Bluegrass State. Robinson is announcing his decision in a commitment ceremony at his high school, so Kentucky fans are holding out hope he picks the Cats, but things seem to be trending Nebraska’s way.
