LINK ]BREAKING: Bama lands South Florida standout
quote:
Four-star defensive lineman LINK ]Braylen Ingraham announced his commitment to Alabama on Tuesday night over one-time heavy favorite Miami as well as Oregon in a video with 247Sports.
The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product becomes the first prospect to join the Crimson Tide’s 2019 class in over two months. The last verbal commitment came from 4-star offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt way back on Aug. 9.
“Life after football,” Ingraham told 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins of why he chose the Tide. “They have the 1st and 10 club that helps you get a job after football. That’s what I’m thinking about. Most athletes don’t think about that. And I’ll be developed and be ready to take my game to the next level at Alabama.”
Ingraham saw the Tide play twice in the month of September — once for the season opener against Louisville and again during his official visit when the Tide faced off with Louisiana-Lafayette. It was that trip, his fourth or fifth time in Tuscaloosa by his estimation, that really set Alabama being the pick in motion.
“I’ve always liked Alabama, but it was the official visit that really got me,” he said.
Ingraham announced his decision on Tuesday evening, but he made sure to let head coach Nick Saban know last Friday night when the team was in Knoxville preparing for its matchup with the Volunteers.
“They were really excited,” Ingraham said of the staff’s reaction. “Coach Saban said I made his day. He said he was worried about the Tennessee game and I calmed his stress a little bit.”

The Tide staff spent a significant amount of one-on-one time with Ingraham during his official visit, especially considering he was the lone official visitor that particular weekend. Running backs coach Joe Pannunzio is the South Florida recruiter for the Tide. He along with others landed the 4-star’s pledge.
“Coach Kool (Craig Kuligowski) and Coach Tosh (Lupoi), what he showed me on the film was amazing, the schemes and everything,” Ingraham said. “I can see myself playing there.”
As for one-time favorite Miami, Ingraham has yet to use his fifth and final official visit nor has he used one on a trip to Coral Gables. He didn’t rule out taking that last visit, although he said he will talk with his parents about it.
At 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, Ingraham is rated the No. 22 strong-side defensive end and the No. 289 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Ingraham is commitment No. 22 for Alabama, which strengthens its hold on the No. 1 class in the country, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
The 4-star prospect joins an already-stout defensive line class headlined by All-American Antonio Alfano as well as others like 4-stars Byron Young, Justin Eboigbe and DJ Dale.
Stay tuned to BamaOnLine for more on Ingraham’s commitment.

This is going to upset some Miami message board meathead greatly.

Wow. Does the staff think that Quinnen and Raekwon are both gone?
Hope they both don't jump.
Bama would have Ray, Mathis, Barmore, Wynn, the JR college transfer and a ton of freshman.
That will not be good.

Ray was one of the top players on the field this week per pff

I actually think it can be a great DL next season. At least depth wise. Just young.

Barmore
Speaking of Barmore, anyone heard anything about him?

Defensive Line (9) * = redshirt
SR: Isaiah Buggs, Johnny Dwight*
JR: Raekwon Davis, Tevita Musika
SO: Quinnen Williams*, LaBryan Ray
FR: Phidarian Mathis*, Stephon Wynn, Christian Barmore
Even if we lose all four -- Buggs, Dwight, Davis, Williams, we'll still have five very good DL plus:
Defensive Line (6) * = early enrollee
4* DT LINK ]DJ Dale 6-3/320 AL hudl *
5* DT Ishmael Sopsher 6-4/330 LA hudl
4* DL LINK ]Antonio Alfano 6-4/285 NJ hudl *
4* DL LINK ]Byron Young 6-4/285 MS hudl *
4* DE LINK ]Justin Eboigbe 6-4.5/263 GA hudl *
4* DE LINK ]Braylen Ingraham 6-4/260 FL hudl
And maybe even one more like:
4* DT Siaki Ika 6-3/351 UT hudl
or
4* DE Ty Robinson 6-6/285 AZ hudl

"Ingraham has every raw tool you want in a defensive lineman. What’s held his ranking back in the past are injury concerns. He missed a chunk of last season and the entire offseason and really only began to show his skill set this season. He’s been better than his current ranking this year, showing that he’s more than just an impressive frame. Ingraham is versatile and possesses some impressive athleticism for a prospect of his size.'"- Southeast recruiting analyst Rob Cassidy
"Big kid. Future defense tackle who has an exceptional first step and great quickness off the ball. Good in pursuit and moves well for a bigger defensive lineman. I like the use of his hands and when he rocks offensive linemen off balance, but he can get skinny when he needs to as well. Looks like he has great potential at the defensive tackle position."- National recruiting director Mike Farrell

How do you know? Did you see Quinnen balling out like he has? If not, trust the coaching staff will develop the guys that will be there next season.

Doesn't look like Christian Barmore has played yet. Surely he'll redshirt, but maybe he'll get to play some vs the Citadel and Auburn.

Every injury Alabama football has sustained this season (BamaOnLine)
quote:
Freshman Stephon Wynn was another defensive lineman that went down during fall camp.
“It’s not a surgical-type injury, but it is a ligament strain that will probably keep him out for a little bit of time," Saban said of Wynn back in August. We hate to lose anybody. We need all the help we can get and all the depth we can, especially with big people and especially in the front seven.”
Since the Ole Miss game, though, the former 4-star recruit and one of the major pieces of the Tide's 2018 signing class has returned and been a full-go for Alabama, totaling three tackles in three appearances thus far on the season.

A DL class with the talent these 7 kids have would be fricking unfair:
Alfano
Eboigbe
Young
Ingraham
Dale
Sopsher
Ika
They would set the tone for the next half decade.
