My goodness, he is so quick off the snap. How he's not rated higher by some sites is beyond me. Hoping we can hang on to him.

Love To'oto

His film is nasty.

Reads plays quickly, takes great angles, shows great closing speed, and brings the pain.

He is clearly both a naturally great football player that is also receiving great coaching. His tackling form honestly can't improve. You could literally make a "how to" video on how to tackle based on how To'oto tackles.

Dude is a cant miss prospect IMO. Do Want.

Would take both but fine with either one even though I slightly prefer HT more.

He reminds me of CJ Mosley coming out of HS. Involved in every play and if he gets his hands on you you going down.

Off topic, but did y'all see that Nick Bosa withdrew from Ohio State to prepare for the draft I know he's been injured but I thought he'd be back.

Saban is probably going to get asked about this now. Imo, something has to give where superstar college players will want to play at least until their final game.

Then again you have situations like Butt from Michigan or that LB from Notre Dame where they get screwed out of millions of dollars.

LINK ]In-state RB Lee Witherspoon putting up eye-popping numbers (BamaOnLine)

quote:

Josh Jacobs came onto Alabama's radar the week after the the Crimson Tide defeated Clemson in the 2016 College Football Playoff Championship Game. Just a few short weeks later, the Tulsa, Okla. native signed with the Tide and has been nothing but a positive addition to the offense ever since.

What caught many a coach's attention with Jacobs was his breakaway speed. He had some of the best tape in the 2016 class. Fast-forward to the 2019 recruiting cycle, and there's a running back in Stevenson (Ala.) North Jackson named Lee Witherspoon that's putting together an off-the-charts senior season.

Through seven games, Witherspoon has rushed for 1,721 yards and 34 touchdowns on 76 carries. That's 22.6 yards yard per touch. Oh, and he also has three punt returns for touchdowns, an interception returned for a touchdown and a fumble recovery returned for six, which brings his total to 39 touchdowns on the season.

"The numbers he's putting up -- I've had SEC backs before -- it's just off the charts, I've never seen anything like it," North Jackson head coach Mark Rose told BamaOnLine.

Witherspoon transferred into North Jackson in the offseason from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker. Up until the seven games this season, Witherspoon didn't have tape on the offensive side of the ball.

"We're pretty darn good upfront, but it seems like literally before our eyes he's getting better every week," Rose said. "He's never played running back. I'm telling you what, his speed ... it's elite. He was second in the state in the 100 meters last year and he'll be a lot better this year."

At an MTSU camp over the summer Witherspoon clocked a 4.38-second 40-yard dash. A lot of schools like him on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Recruiting is obviously picking up with what he's doing on the field. Mississippi State is the 6-foot, 190-pounder's lone SEC offer at this time. Tennessee is showing a lot of interest and the Alabama staff has inquired about him. Louisville will be at North Jackson's game on Friday.

"I told him to take his time," Rose said. "His head is sort of spinning. Until this summer, he'd never been to a camp in his life. Every camp I took him to he got offered. I've been through this a lot of times, and I've got to say, he's a great kid, very humble and respectful. He doesn't say much, but he's a great kid."

Taking his time might pay off for Witherspoon who scored a whopping eight touchdowns last week in a 63-7 win over Priceville. The week before he ran in seven scores and returned a punt for a touchdown in a 78-12 win over Fairview.

Witherspoon will cap off his high school career at the Alabama-Mississppi All-Star Game in December. By that time he could be breaking some state rushing records at North Jackson if he keeps this pace up.

247Sports currently rates Witherspoon a 3-star prospect and the No. 2-ranked running back in the state for 2019.

Sometimes you gotta be selfish, teamwork doesn't get you paid. For the team that knocks him on it, there's 30 more who'd gladly have him.

Just hope he pulled a Earl Thomas to Urban.

Personally, I'd offer Witherspoon. He's worth taking a chance on with speed like that. He's about the size and everything of Kenyan Drake

During Meyer's press conference last night when asked about the status of Bosa he said Bosa was headed to Philly today for another opinion regarding his injury and recovery. I assume he was told today that he may not be back in time for any games even the playoffs and hence why he made the announcement today
