I get tired of hearing this narratice about alumni network pushed to discredit this university with rectuits.

Michigan is a better school than Alabama, period. I say this as a Bama alum. Their brand travels much further. If a person truly values academics and is not just paying lip service to the notion, it's the logical choice.

It's disingenuous to suggest otherwise. It was cringe-worthy last year reading this board's reaction to the QB who picked Princeton over Alabama. Hill very well could be a pro, but if for any reason that's not a reality for him, a degree from Michigan provides better opportunities (and in more places) than one from Bama

Word has it that Hill really wanted to commit to UA on his OV, but his parents made him hold off. His parents preferred Michigan in the end.

It's a business decision. Some people think going to a more prestigious school will pay dividends later in life. Some people think going to a school where their athletic abilities will be fine tuned will pay dividends later in life. This is how I perceive Dax Hill's decision. We'll be fine and I hope he will be as well.

Steve Wiltfong CBd Clay Webb to UGA.

Hank: "Family ties to Athens and his relationship with their OL coach Sam Pittman are keeping it close. He's on record saying both Key and Pittman would be the reason he would choose either of the schools. Everyone we've talked to feel it's close. I don't think you'd be faulted to put in a CB pick for either program at this point and Steve made it clear not to count out Alabama. There's three months to go here and Bama still has its official visit in its back pocket for him. It's one of those situations that there's optimism on both sides. Even Steve isn't writing off Alabama with his pick, he just feels that's the pulse, which is fair. I'm sticking on Alabama for now."

Webb kind of seems like a weird dude that is going to do the opposite of what people expect just to do the opposite of what people expect. I don't think he actually wants to be at Alabama anyway. Ross knew we had Jeudy, Ruggs, and Smith waiting to start as sophomores and he'd have to wait until his 3rd year to be the #1 option no matter how the QB situation shook out.

I think it's simply that Webb is undecided at this point. I'm not going to fret over it if he chooses to go somewhere other than Bama. If we only land one of Evan Neal and Darnell Wright, we'll still have a great OL class. Even if we miss on Webb, Neal and Wright and end up with Kaamar Bell, we'll still have a strong OL class.

Going to show my recruiting ignorance here so forgive me if I’m off base. Are we seeing our overall recruiting momentum slow? We had a good class last year but it wasn’t #1. Which is fine and doesn’t mean the sky is falling. However, there’s clearly a correlation between signing multiple #1 classes and the success we’ve had on the field. Is it a cause for a little concern if we take once again aren’t signing the top class while an SEC rival does?

Could care less about recruiting “titles” but I do care about maintaining our talent advantage that has led to 5 real titles.

Seems like we had the momentum early but we haven't had a commit since 'Nam while UGA has been getting some. Still a good bit of recruiting to go before it's over, though.

No doubt. A lot can happen.

Just sort raising the issue even though it is probably way too premature.
