They are starting to sense that he [Sopsher] will end up in Tuscaloosa. By the time NSD rolls around he will be a 3* caliber recruit who would be better suited for ULM or Tulane than the SEC. Then he will sign with LSU and suddenly all those issues will disappear and he will be arguably the best DL recruit since Clowney.

247Sports: "Five-star center Clay Webb (Oxford, Ala.) went 3-2-1 on the day, with some intense reps against five-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher (Amite, La.). Sopsher went up against Webb and five-star LSU offensive guard commit Kardell Thomas (Baton Rouge, La.) and won more battles than he lost."

Some continued discussion on the Georgia mock class you posted in the Jayson Jones thread yesterday. A poster over there contends Webb was listed for 2020 because he has “grade issues”. What is this about?

I have never heard anything about his grades being an issue. I think they are just bullshitting

Inability to qualify wouldn't likely shift him from 2019 to 2020 anyway.

yea, I'm not understanding this argument at all. He'd be in Mississippi for 2 years. I believe the Auburn fan is just trolling

I think it was an honest mistake on his part. It sure is fun to see it spark a debate though

Alabama is aware of what Kardell said and are apparently not worried about it.

LINK ]Elite OL Evan Neal talks interest in Alabama (BamaOnLine-VIP)

4-star OT Evan Neal 6-8/360 FL hudl

Neal was committed to UA briefly in early 2016. He visited for the 2017 LSU game and again in early June. Locksley and Key talk with him often. “They want me to be a part of the Tide... They’re pretty serious. They’re a contender to get my commitment... I’ve grown up fantasizing about that offensive line. It’s my dream to go to the NFL and they put plenty of offensive linemen in the NFL.” Neal said he will "probably" OV Bama and wants to but can't come to the late July Cookout. Neal has been impressive at The Opening Finals.

ETA: Evan Neal has trimmed about 30 lbs of bad weight and talks like he's fired up about working hard on S&C, that he really likes Scott Cochran and Bama's "outwork yesterday" culture. I might feel as good if we get Neal as I would if we get Darnell Wright.

Hey Bear, what's your PS4 user name? I've been playing Call of Duty online a little bit. I suck so freaking much. I'm pathetic. I didn't think it would be possible to be as bad as I am

Man looking at the ol/dl highlights i think Quick, Webb, and Sospher did well. I don't think you can say getting beat by Kayvon makes it a bad day. He just looks on another level. Now Darnell Wright looked like shite. The big interior guy Ika or whatever his name is looks like a monster as well.

I swear the more I have been looking at the information and videos coming out of The Opening the more I dislike it. It is like watching outdoor 1 on 1 basketball and then making decisions on how good a guy will be in the NBA 3 years from now. From what I read it was also poorly organized and run this year. It isn't complete garbage but there is a ton I would throw out. The camps run by coaches I respect, this seemed slimier than AAU basketball.

* Kenyon Green definitely best OT
* Kardell Thomas definitely best OG
* Kayvon Thibodeau definitely best speed DE
* Sopsher definitely beat 3-4 DT
* Pickering definitely best 3-4 DE
* Bandes out-performed Siaki Ika for NG

*Kevin Harris won some and lost some, did well though.
* Pierce lost more than he won, stands up too tall and gets ragged dolled a bit.
* Clay Webb got slaughtered by Sopsher. Won one rep against him.
* Kayvon Thibodeau is the best defensive player in the country
* Darnell Wright... I don't know how he's a 5-star. Beaten like a drum consistently, leans forward and stands tall. Doesn't bend knees so gets thrown around
