Powhound is going to be ticked if that happens. He has been raving about Henry over Dean for a long time.

Is that rumor about Pruitt showing HT the film of Wilson under him in 17 vs 18 under Golding/Tosh true?

He and our linebacking depth will be fine.

From that UT mod's article on his CB pick:
quote:
Lupoi was not the only reason To'oto'o has been strongly considering Alabama. After his official visit last weekend, he said Lupoi is "a good man" and "a big factor" in his recruitment. But even if Lupoi left, To'oto'o said, "it's still Alabama."
His final official visit to Bama is the weekend of Jan. 25. Pruitt and Saban (and Golding) will also have in-home visits with To'oto'o and his family.

So... the mod is basically taking a calculated shot in the dark?

Yes. And negative recruiting by selecting Mack's 2017 highlights and 2018 lowlights is a pretty deceptive tactic, which may actually harm UTs chances more than it helps. Apparently UT didn't have any film of their LBs and defense that they wanted To'oto'o to see. In contrast, Bama won't talk about UT. Instead Bama will do a great job of showing To'oto'o film on what his role and future will be like playing at Bama. Maybe it'll include some highlights from UA vs UT and UA vs UW.

This reminds me of UGA recruiting Alfano.

The NFL draft is after signing day, but ... how silly would Pruitt / Tennessee look if they downplayed Mack's 2018 season, and then he's drafted in the first or second round?

The latest boards have him rated Lb3-5... there is a real chance he goes top 2 rounds. All it takes is one team looking at 17 tape, seeing the athleticism and deciding that they like him as a Will in their scheme.

Don't have a strong take either way, however, I don't see why it would really matter now since Tosh is leaving. It would matter if Pruitt knew who are new DC or LB coach would be and could show that he was bad at developing talent.

TEAMS WITH TOP COMMITS/SIGNEES: Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame
Alabama signee Evan Neal took over the top spot at offensive tackle and the Crimson Tide look like to be in line to sign the top group of offensive linemen in 2019. Neal leads a group of five that includes one five-star, three four-stars and a three-star. Amari Kight and Pierce Quick are in-state four-star tackles, Darrian Dalcourt is a four-star interior lineman from Maryland while Tanner Bowles of Kentucky is a three-star that can line up at tackle or guard.
Michigan and Notre Dame have strong classes as well. The Wolverines had a big need up front and they have already inked six offensive linemen. Rivals250 prospects Trente Jones, Trevor Keegan and Nolan Rumler lead the way.
The Fighting Irish have already signed an impressive quartet of offensive linemen. Offensive tackle Quinn Carroll of Minnesota headlines the group as a Rivals100 prospect. Zeke Correll, Andrew Kristofic and John Olmstead are all highly ranked four-star prospects.

I'm really excited for the group of Olinemen we pulled this class. Get a technician who can recruit decently and keep it rolling.

“Coach Banks said I’m not really a hand-in-the-dirt type of tight end, so him being the tight ends coach, he just told me that I’ll be more spread out like a big wide receiver. With them throwing the ball so much and having really good receivers, I think it would fit me well... I feel like they’ll get the right coaches and put them in the right places. That doesn’t really concern me..."

His film looks like a smoother running Irv... which is crazy.
