Enos' promotion to OC seems similar to Tosh's promotion to DC last year. Outlets like BOL and al.com reported early on that their sources confirmed they're being promoted. But Bama didn't announce Tosh's promotion for quite a while. I'm expecting Enos to be Bama's OC.

Random rumor site but they make an interesting point in that Miami could possibly give Enos a chance to bring Jalen with him to Miami. This is all rumor at this point but given the moves of today I don't think anyone has any clue as to what might happen next.

Well, if Saban does want Enos to be OC and if I'm Dan Enos, there's no way I take the Miami OC job instead. Lemme see, I can be OC at the GOAT dynasty learning from the GOAT college HC with awesome player talent. Or, I can be OC at a program with an average roster, facilities, staff, support, etc., working for a 1st-time HC. Hmmm. Which choice is better for my future?

I understand that logic and agree, but just like we don't understand recruits and what drives them, coaches are a breed of their own. For all we know Enos may feel like this year stint was all he needed to revitalize his image and wants to go somewhere he has total offensive control, like Miami.

I doubt that's the situation at all with Enos. The opportunity to be OC at Bama for the 2019 season is a great launching pad for Enos' career to really take off. He'll get good HC offers in no time. What makes you think Enos wouldn't have just as much control of the offense at Bama as he would at Miami?

I watched this year's offense go into a conservative shell at the same time every Alabama offense has under Saban. That might totally have been locksley doing what he though Saban would want.

We have no insight into that building unless an insider or Saban tells us something. Kiffin has talked about Saban interfering with his playcalling, what is stopping him from doing the same with Locks or Enos?

Eh, he tells it like it is. My point isn't that kiffin is the best source or that Saban interferes in Offense to any great degree, but that if Enos wants complete control of the offense and playcalling, he may not get that here.

Alabama's OC job is arguably the best OC job in college football. And it seems to me that Enos' offensive acumen and philosophy meshes very well with Saban's. I think you're imagining that Dan Enos has concerns that I highly doubt he has. I think we should just agree that we disagree and let it go at that.

Lighten up Francis. I didn't post that as a rule; just a notice that there's a coaching changes thread. That article is definitely worth posting. But since you didn't post it in there, I did.
Maybe we should just eliminate the ability to start any other threads and post everything in this one thread -- and we could just rename it "THE MOTHERFRICKING GIGATHREAD"
Eta: I had already RA'd the coaching changes thread to be stickied but that hasn't happened.

Five Most Interesting 2019 Recruitments Left in the Midwest

Of the few prospects remaining, these recruitments five provide the most intrigue.

WR Demariyon Houston
Since stepping away from a Texas commitment in early December, Houston has been quiet about the direction of his recruitment. He took his first official visit of the process to Minnesota the weekend of Dec. 7, and while the trip went fine he has since decided that will not be the destination for him. Going into the final month before the Late Signing Period, Houston remains wide open with a couple official visits set.
The first official visit planned by Houston for this month is to Nebraska the weekend of Jan. 18, and he also has one scheduled to Colorado for the weekend of Feb. 1. Alabama decided after the Early Signing Period that they would like to take one more wide receiver in this class, and Houston is among those targeted for that spot. Both parties are now discussing a potential visit date, but Penn State is also a strong contender for an official visit and if Houston does not take an official visit this weekend that leaves just one weekend available before the signing period opens.

Possible transfer from a WR? Or the loss of Gattis has prompted the staff to look for WR's this class because Fleming is much less likely now?

LINK ]Kyle Patterson (3-star TE from Gilbert, AZ), who got an Alabama offer heading into the contact period this weekend, "tells 247Sports that it is unlikely that he makes it to Tuscaloosa for an official visit before he announces a college choice, which would firmly put the Huskies in a great spot. Washington has been trending on the Crystal Ball in recent weeks and wowed the 6-foot-6, 234-pound prospect during his official visit to Seattle prior to the early signing period."
