Byron Young walked William Putnam into the RB in inside run...next play he beats Dontae Lucas with penetration

Alabama signee Byron Young is playing better today. Getting a lot more penetration.

Hank South posted this. Notice he has signee listed for Young. Hmm.

The FSU OL recruits/targets looking real poor today... Putnam is one of the most overrated prospects this cycle in my opinion. FSU and Clemson (fans) both view him way higher than his actual film seems to suggest.

Best of luck to him in Baton Rouge. Give me Nathan Pickering over this nonsense.

I agree. If we can't take a chance on Pickens, then I'll be damned if I want us to throw away a scholarship to a guy that will never see the field and just suck up a number for four or five years.

some quick thoughts from the East practice

-Alfano was dominant again. Too quick and athletic on the inside. Lived in the backfield, particularly during the team portion. The offense was running tempo, so it's interesting to see which linemen perform well in that setting in terms of stamina. Much more translatable than one-on-one's where guys stand around waiting their turn. Alfano's motor and wind were impressive on top of the initial quicks.

-Penn State signee Caedan Wallace was a standout on inside drills. Lined up at OG mostly and was the first guy to really have much success against Alfano- two of the better jumbo athletes in this cycle.

-Mohamoud Diabate flashed to me on a few occasions as did Kyle Hamilton.

-Clemson signee Will Putnam is working at center and you can tell he's not super comfortable there.

-Thought both QB's looked relatively sharp. Taulia Tagovailoa was out today with what appears to be a shoulder injury. Was receiving some treatment in the injury tent during practice.

Love this idea from @AdamCarriker94 And it makes a lot of sense. Eliminate the conference championship games-play the traditional bowls-pick best 4 AFTER those traditional match ups and have the playoff after. Would make bowls more exciting and easier to select “best” 4.

What's amazing is he was only 76 years old.

He looked 75 twenty years ago.

Prayers for Mean Gene's family.
