It drops some Jan 31, but Idk how much.

Big buyout $ may come from mega boosters, if they want Mario bad enough.

Burned by the Taggart departure, Oregon protected itself with that hefty buyout of $10 million, which Cristobal would owe UO if he left before Jan. 31, 2019.....

.....Cristobal's buyout decreases by $2 million for each season thereafter. So, next year it would be $8 million, then $6 million, then just $4 million after Cristobal has spent four years as Oregon's coach.

LINK ]Jeffery Carter (6-0/186) 4* #11 CB, #91 overall
| 247: #3/#19 | Espn: #4/#37 | Rivals: #48/#__ |
Verified: Forty: 4.36 | Shuttle: 4.27 | Vert: 40.40

LINK ]Derek Stingley (6-0/188) 5* #1 CB, #3 overall
| 247: #1/#2 | Espn: #2/#24 | Rivals: #1/#1 |
Verified: Forty: 4.30 | Shuttle: 4.28 | Vert: 42.00

Combine results for both are from The Opening.

Rivals ranks Stingley the #1 CB, #1 overall player and raved about his results as a big reason why.

Rivals ranks Carter the #48 CB, unranked overall.

Rivals' ridiculous ranking for Carter is keeping him from being a 5-star in the 247 Composite.

Wonder if Rucht was honest with recruits ? Could have been reason they had so many de commits and bad class. Would be awful to sign kids then retire

Mario would be a pain in our arse with recruiting if he went to Miami. I hope he stays in Oregon.

TideorDie we got the number 2 pick in the draft and there is almost no way we take Quinnen. The Niners make me so mad sometimes.

I want Quinnen too but i dont want to keep drafting interior lineman.

It makes a ton of sense. Supposedly a great recruiter, loves Miami, ran some great defenses except for the weird mack brown texas years.

If they wanted a defensive coach, they should have gone hard after Venables.

Diaz was already at Miami and successful. Venables isn't leaving his great job for Miami, Diaz would leave temple. I'm not sure why you would say that?

Diaz overall has been a really good DC, and fits the bill in terms of being a Miami guy. Whether that's the right choice is separate, but he is a Cristobal light in terms of fit. Some of the internal leaks indicate richt had created a really divided locker room and Diaz was the one trying to hold it together, similar to Locksley and the receiver room last year.

I'm glad they picked Diaz because I don't think he's a guy that can stop us from cherry picking south Florida.

They don't have the money to get Venables in my opinion.

I found Diaz to be an average DC by SEC standards when he was at MSU.

Connelly has talked a bunch about this, but Diaz has consistently produced defenses that significantly outperformed their talent levels except for his texas stint. I agree those defenses at MSU weren't amazing, but in relation to the talent level they were really solid. The defenses he produced at UM were really good even as richts offense failed them.over and over.

This feels like a hire that guarantees Miami will be looking for a new head coach in 3-5 years.

O I believe that, just as I believe locksley will be back at bama in 3-4 years, but Diaz makes sense as the bridge hire from the richt disaster as is quickly becoming apparent as insiders leak how bad things had gotten internally. Cristobal prob goes in 4 years with a lot more hc experience and recruits the hell out of South Florida.

I knew Miami wouldn't pay Cristobal's buyout. Diaz's buyout was reportedly $4 million. They are a has been program.

You need to hear these Miami fans. They think Diaz has Saban qualities. Seriously. Here's the link.
