Major Applewhite,
For Houston to make this move after his second season is strange. They either have someone lined up that they really like or Major did something that they are keeping under wraps

Leavitt wouldn't be universally accepted but could work. I think the fanbase would hate Schiano but the administration has proven they care nothing about there fans or athletics so it is possible.

If it is just to get the pay bump then yeah. They paid Herman more than Holgerson makes at WVU. I was thinking more Power 5 vs group of 6 job.

I doubt Schiano gets a look at Miami. A lot of their fans want Diaz but I think that's a short-term outlook to hire Diaz. I don't know if Miami wants to pay Cristobal's buyout.

I'm going to laugh when Miami makes a run at bringing Butch Davis back

Butch would be an improvement over Richt and Diaz.

I agree and he is coaching right down the road from Miami

They probably need Butch to stabilize the program honestly. Richt is leaving behind a mess. I'm hoping they kick the tires on Mark Stoops
.

I'm laughing at the Miami fans who want Diaz. They are a desperate group.

I agree. Butch would bring in talent and the guy can coach. He would do well. How about Iowa State's coach? He's done a damn good job up there

that #WVU and Dana Holgorsen are in a standoff after being near an extension earlier in the year. Neither side feels the need to move. VIP details --->
This is interesting for Houston or maybe Miami

I think he could be successful but he doesn't have any South Florida ties that I am aware of. Great coach but I'm not sure how much credibility he would have walking into homes down there. The bigger issue is can you deal with the adversarial relationship between athletics and administration at UM.

know Houston has money, but seems it is a stepping stone job. Would imagine that a move from WVU to Miami would be more to the liking - moving to the ACC instead of the AAC.

More than anything, Holgo needs to reset the clock on firing him for a bad season. Next year is gonna be bad for WVU with a ton of talent leaving. Going to Houston after MA will give him a ton of leeway until a new major job opens up.

I just couldn't imagine Holgorsen being a good fit at Miami but anything is possible.

The night life might be too much for him down there

With a new hairpiece and a little tan he'd do okay

Holgorson and Houston are talking behind the scenes. He has ties there and would probably be much more comfortable and could dominate there. Lots less pressure. WVU is tiring of Holgo and vice-versa. They are both setting the table for a parting of the ways.
Miami better hire a Miami man because that thing is going to be a mess for a couple of years. It has to be Butch or Mario with Joey Freshwater as the dark horse guy.
