Houston is reportedly hiring Florida "GameChanger Coordinator" Chris Couch to be the Cougars' next special teams coordinator.

Gators head coach Billy Napier hired Couch in 2022 as his GameChanger coordinator, with his main focus on the special teams unit. Per 247Sports:

Florida analyst Chris Couch, who served as UF's primary special teams coach during head coach Billy Napier's first two seasons with the program, is departing the program to join Houston as the program's special teams coordinator, according to 247Sports' Matt Zenitz.

A native of Milledgeville, Georgia, Couch spent the 2021 season with UF head coach Billy Napier at Louisiana as UL's special teams coordinator and the director of quality control & analytics. Prior to his time at Louisiana, Couch previously worked under Houston coach Willie Fritz at Tulane, from 2016 through 2020. Adding to connections at Houston for Couch is Florida's co-defensive coordinator last season, Austin Armstrong, joined the Houston program after the 2024 season.

Special Teams coach? Wasn't this the dude responsible for UF special teams having only 10 men on the field multiple times this season. Good riddance. LOL!
