Polynesian names are hard....not like the ebonics names that roll of the tongue naturally

Ryan Fowler is basically a BOL message board poster named Bama#1BoogersSuck that was given his own radio show

Yeah I get he can be a homer but he has good guest and he is kind to some of the goobers that call his show.

Don't know any off the top of my head but as long as football will be played there will be some notable Polynesians that we will be recruiting.

Guys, we need to start a campaign to get Joshua "Bubba" Johnson an official offer from Bama. He's 6'2 and 350. Play's some running back and QB and does a little bit of everything
. He's a damn good athlete for such a big guy.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban held his final on-campus press conference before the Crimson Tide travels to Miami Gardens, Fla., for the Capital One Orange Bowl semifinal. Below is what Saban said about practice, facing No. 4 Oklahoma and the Early Signing Period.
“First of all, I want to make a comment about practice. We did get to go outside a couple of days, which was really good. The footing wasn’t great but the weather was pretty good. The field sort of got torn up so bad that we thought we needed to go back inside.
"Preparation continues to go well. We’re going to move up practice tomorrow, practice a little earlier so the players can get out of here and actually take a three-day break before we depart for Miami on the 24th, early in the morning. We’ll practice down there.
"So I think practice is going well. We’re getting what we need to get out of practice. I know this is tough on the players when you practice this many days in a row, but when we’ve done it where we spread it out more where they get rest in between, it just sort of grinds on you mentally.
"So they’ve had a good attitude about it and we’ve done a pretty good job in terms of the coaches being able to get some of the implementation that we need to get ready for this game.
“Oklahoma, like we talked about before, is a very challenging team in a lot of ways. They have a great offensive team and they score a lot of points and their defense seems to make plays when they need to."

“We’re really pleased with the signing today. We were able to add 22 [23 after Trey Sanders´ NLI received] players to the roster.
"We still have a few more that may come in. We do have some additional numbers that we can take guys, so don’t do your calculations and scare off everybody that we’re recruiting for February, because we do have spots left and there are good players out there that we’re very much interested in and are interested in us.
"I think our staff, coaches, did a really good job. A recruiting cycle goes over a long period of time. We built a lot of really good relationships with a lot of really good players. I think we satisfied a lot of needs on our team and I think that… you know, you never know.
"I always talk about this. You never know exactly how guys are going to develop, what their mindset is going to be, actually if they turn out to be everything that you want them to. Just like when you buy a puppy dog, just because he has big feet doesn’t mean he’s going to be the biggest dog in the neighborhood.
"We know we’re happy with the guys that we got and we want to help them develop. I think we did a good job early on of developing relationships with a lot of good players.”

ON MAKING THE EARLY SIGNING PERIOD WORK
“Look, if it’s better for the players, I’m good with it. We play in the SEC championship game, we lose a week of recruiting. We only have two weeks on the road, we’re playing in the playoff and trying to get ready for a game. We’re practicing today on the signing day. We practiced yesterday, the day before signing day.
"As predicted, this is becoming the signing day. This right now. Just like we all predicted when they made an early signing day. It’s not an early signing day, it’s the signing day. It’s when more and more players are signing. It accelerates the recruiting cycle. We have more guys visiting during the season.
"We have such great things here at Alabama, we love when people visit when we don’t have a game. We want them to come to a game, but we want them to develop relationships with people. People academically, people who are going to help them be successful as people, character, attitude, thoughts, habits, priority, career development.
"There’s a lot of things that we try to do to create value for players and when people visit during the season it’s really hard to build those relationships. It is what it is and we’re trying to make it work as best as we can.”

ON WHAT HE LEARNED FROM LAST YEAR'S EARLY SIGNING PERIOD
“I think we figured out that we needed to get ahead on more players. More and more players are going to make this their signing date, so you have to start the process earlier, you have to get more players in here earlier, you have to develop relationships with them. I think that’s what we did a little better.
"I think last year we sort of tried to save more spots for guys that didn’t sign early. Then with all the coaching turnover we had, we lost a lot of relationships with those guys and I think it hurt us in the end. So this year we were probably a little more aggressive.”
ON QB SIGNEES TAULIA TAGOVAILOA, PAUL TYSON
“We were excited about both guys. They’re two really good quarterbacks here in the state. There are other good quarterbacks, too, but we were happy with the two we got. They were both very productive. They have great character. They have a lot of potential.
"Taulia had a lot of success and led his team to the state finals. I know he was banged up at the end of the year and it didn’t work out, but had some great games where he led his team to come from behind. We’re excited about him.
"Paul has been in a very successful program and very productive, great character. I’m happy we got both guys here. I think we should have at least four quarterbacks on scholarship. Five is OK, too. We’re kind of in the ballpark now."

ON GOING OUT-OF-STATE TO RECRUIT
"Well, we had a lot of good players from a lot of good places. Once we get here we never seem to look at their mailing address to figure out whether we’re going to play them, or not play them or how they’re going to develop.
"That doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s all about who they are and how we try to manage and help them sort of develop. I think we’ve done a pretty good job of — look, we have a system of evaluation that we use on players, it doesn’t matter where they are.
"If they meet the criteria we’re looking for at a position and we have defined criteria that we’re looking for at each position, critical factors that we look for, and when guys have them we start recruiting them.
"There’s a lot of people that are interested in our program, and I think we have a program that’s created a lot of value for a lot of players in the past because we have a very high graduation rate, the most players who graduate in three-and-a-half years of anyone in the country.
"We have a lot of guys that do extremely well career wise, whether it’s in the NFL or outside in other areas. So we do create a lot of value, we invest a lot in the players, and I think a lot of guys recognize that and it’s why they’re interested."

ON HOW MUCH OF A PRIORITY WAS PLACE ON RECRUITING DEFENSIVE PLAYERS
"It was a very high priority at all and it’s going to continue to be a priority as we continue to recruit. But we lost a lot of players in the last two years. We probably haven’t replaced them as quickly as we lost them. So now we’re trying to — and I think a lot of these players see the opportunity they have because of that. That was very important."
ON SAIVION SMITH
"Saivion has done a really nice job for us. I think that when he focuses on what he’s supposed to do and has good eye control and plays with discipline, he plays extremely well. That has improved throughout the course of the year and that has been very helpful in helping him become a very good player and a very productive player for us."
