The main issue we have with it is we'll have to deal with the spin machine tomorrow trying to make Trey Sanders and Clay Webb the story of the week while ignoring the Fields fiasco.

If we land Dean and Neal tomorrow no one will care.

ETA: Fixed. I'm an idiot.

Yea - I'm not going to say Sanders isn't clearly an elite RB and we are signing a kid just as good (that's IF we get Williams), but I think Robot hit it that running back is a position that isn't QUITE as dependent on landing elite elite guys to be very good at it.

I want to sign 5-stars at every position because the odds of them hitting are just much higher, but if I am forced to pick I would take a string of solid 4-star level RBs over signing 4-star level DL/MLB/S/QB types.

Jacobs was found late as a three star and many didn't want him because of his rating ignoring his film.

That's bullshite. This board celebrated when he picked Alabama over Oklahoma. The story being presented then was his coaches simply failed to send his tapes out and therefore he wasn't recognized until late in the process.

Shea Dixon on Nakobe Dean:

I think the one constant from all programs is that they feel Alabama is a major player. For that reason I’m leaning towards him picking the Tide, but I am by no mean’s confident in that. Just a hunch.

Well DJ Williams is now up to #276 overall on 247. He's getting there.

To be honest, I wouldn't be mad if Dean went to Ole Miss. As long as we get To'oto'o, we're good.

Neal is a need.

You must have been on hiatus during that time period because a few of us were talking people off ledges.

There was a serious obsession with Jacobs star rating being lks and TS, 3714, etc can all atest to it. We hammered ignoring the rating and focusing on the film.

Don't try rewrite history. We ain't forgot it.

Yea - pretty much everyone was hoping for D'Vaughn Pennamon if I remember correctly, with hope that maybe we'd flip Amir Rasul.

Speaking of melts, take a look at this gem I found on the Georgia 247 board:

quote:

Saban was getting his teeth kicked in during the 11th round by Kirby. With Dean, Sanders, Haselwood and Stevenson all locked, Kirby was going in for the dager to the heart with Pittman bulldawged on Neal. Saban contacts Dan Wolken with source info that Justin Fields is transferring. Saban knew he couldn’t beat Kirby head-to-head and dropped a bomb that forced Kirby to scramble at the start of the 12th round. That’s negative cruitin at its finest... for those of you asking about timing, think about it and whom this would benefit the most from this viral info. Answer is Saban...

Hearing LSU expects Ika in their class tomorrow. Will kind of suck if Bama didn’t take him earlier and they miss on Sopsher. Also hearing that Young might flip to LSZu as well. This was on Baton Rouge radio. Not their board.

Congrats Bear! That is a huge deal. My older two daughters both missed that magic number by 1 point. That one point equated to 60% the cost of college due to not getting food and boarding paid.

Well as bad as Bama needs DL depth that would suck.

Maybe. He might still end up in Oregon.

Alabama leads for Sopsher while having to split their attention between 50 recruits. Imagine how much that lead will grow when he's one of only 3-4 left on the board.

Pickering would be the next one up if sopsher goes elsewhere, so IKA wouldve been at a minimum plan C.
