Downtown has a couple of good ones. Adrienn's and Craft Beer House.

Same podcast I referenced earlier said that Savion Smith was "likely" a safety which was the first time I had heard that. McKinney and Thompson should have safety locked down next season IMO.

I thought SSmith was our answer at corner next season. I've heard from several different recruiting analyst that SSmith has had a phenomenal year at the juco ranks, and I always assumed he was playing corner.

Also said we are not out of it for T.Campbell despite the doom and gloom surrounding his recruitment lately.

Blue Iguana is only good for Thursdays because they use to host fight night that night every week. They don't anymore but thats pretty much the routine people kept when they stopped. Pratt Pub is okay. The crowd is usually older anytime I have been there.

So according to this article on tidesports, Pete Golding might join our defensive staff.
Tidesports
quote:

University of Texas at San Antonio defensive coordinator Pete Golding has emerged as the leading candidate to join Alabama’s defensive staff for next season, The Tuscaloosa News has learned.

quote:

Golding, who also coaches cornerbacks at UTSA, was a four-year starter at safety at Delta State from 2002-05. He began his coaching career immediately following his playing career, becoming a graduate assistant at Delta State in 2006. From there he served one season as defensive backs coach at Tusculum before being named the defensive coordinator there for two seasons. He went back to Delta State from 2010-11 as the defensive coordinator and took the same job a Southeastern Louisiana from 2012-13. He served two seasons at Southern Miss as the safeties coach before accepting the defensive coordinator at UTSA in 2016.

I hope he is a recruiter, this staff needs them.

Hell, hire Trooper Taylor and let him wave a towel at practice and games while he knocks it out of the park in recruiting.

Louisiana native sticks out.

ETA: Apparently he was a candidate for Moo State's DC job.

Would be interesting to see where he would fit. Does he get a title bigger than position coach? Does someone get a Co-DC tag with Tosh?

His background is with DBs, do you move Ansley to ILBs to further his development as a future coordinator or do you put In Golding there?

Hiring a "sort of" bagman is one thing. But let's not be THAT brazen about it. Hiring Trooper would basically be the equivalent to inviting the NCAA to set up shop on Bryant Drive.

I just looked, Golding had the 7th ranked total defense this year...at UTSA.

That's impressive...

Would his Db background mean ansley is moving up?

That or Golding will be Co-DC/ILB Coach.

Can't be overlooked that Golding already is a DC with playcalling experience. Tosh, Ansley, and even Dunbar can't say that...

Young guy. Groom him to take over for Tosh once he takes the inevitable head coaching job.

247 ranks him as the #1 juco CB and #2 juco recruit nationally.

He's got a lot of Louisiana recruiting ties too.

Some of his recent Twitter followers are Joseph Bulovas, Phildarian Mathis, Jacob Copeland, and Aaron Suttles...

Serious may be overstating it. Anoma has some work to do. Barmore has more work to do.

Edit: Anoma update (signing 12/22)
quote:

His academics are in check and he’s fully qualified, so there will be no concern on whether or not he’ll be able to enroll in January.
