We can try and flip Cooper if Jimbo bolts.

This recruiting year is embarrassing. The sunshine pumpers won’t see it.. but just like our offense the want to play for the Bama name is stale. These kids aren’t as excited as before.. Saban is a great name, but there is plenty more outstanding young coaches. One beat us last year. The gap is closing

The main problem is the DL in this class. There aren't really many elite DT out there that Bama really needs. None of which will make a immediate impact that Bama needs next year.

There are a lot of great DB out there and I have no idea why only one is committed right now.

We will see where the staff goes this week.

If that's the case with the DL, then the staff better damn well bring in at least 4-5 studs at the position in the 2019.

Do you know something we don’t? Any DBs leaning to us that we know nothing about?

Tennessee looks like a dumpster fire, so I imagine that might be a plus in recruiting.

Pruitt or Tosh leaving might throw a dent in it though

I don’t understand how db’s and dt’s aren’t knocking down our door. We put kids in the league, they play on the largest, best stage college football can offer (the SEC), and we can offer the possibility of immediate player by time. Has anyone heard if we are going to make a change on our DL Coach? God, I wish Bo Davis hadn’t been an idiot and lied to coach.

With Ole Miss about to get serious sanctions and Miss St having a new coach, it's time for Bama to steal some recruits from a loaded state of Mississippi class next year.

Too bad there aren't very many good recruits in the state of Mississippi this year.

Tosh leaving for a DC job this year is a realistic concern. UA needs to do whatever is needed to keep him on staff.

A former player at Bama thinks our OL net year will be....

LT- Leatherwood
LG- RossP or Cotton
C- Jonah
RG- Womack
RT- Wills

I've been very critical of Ross P's play this year (maybe the development of the entire line is just a bigger issue in general). But heard some good things about him in the lockerroom. Heard there was a lot of turmoil after the game yesterday, including one of our best players calling another one out. Heard RossP was one of only a couple guys to encourage the one that was called out afterward. He's a good dude based on all I've heard of him.

It's a shame that those guys aren't getting better development.

Momma doesn't want Bobby Brown leaving home. Don't think we're to blame here. Sometimes that just happens. Just bad luck.

Is it a problem with Key or do they still have too much Cristobal in them?

Ross has been a top 5 Guard in the SEC per PFF and was Bama's highest graded player against Auburn...while injured.

I don't know for certain. Our style of play is VERY OL-dependent. If we have a really good OL, we win and maul people pretty much regardless of the QB.

Whatever we need to do or whoever we need to bring in to do it, we need to do it.We recruit entirely too well at the position for it to continue to be an issue.

And that mixed with a QB who can't see the field in the passing game is a bad recipe right now.

I really like this OL. I've thought for a while Jonah would be a good fit at C.

BTW, is Dallas Warmack redshirting this year? I didn't see him get any play, even in mop up duty.

St. Paul's head coach Steve Mask noticed something immediately about Alabama commit Jalyn Armour-Davis on Friday.

"He's having fun," Mask said.

He's also having a big impact for the Saints in all three phases of the game.

In Friday's Class 5A quarterfinal against defending champ Beauregard, Armour-Davis threw a 66-yard touchdown pass and set up two other scores with a long kickoff return and a 22-yard run on a reverse as the Saints pulled away for a 52-20 victory.

They'll play at Demopolis in the semifinals next week.

"He played tonight like people expect him to play," Mask said of the four-star defensive back. "He's having fun, and you can tell. He has quit worrying about things, and he's enjoying playing high school football."

Armour-Davis, No. 2 on AL.com's A-List of top senior prospects in the state, missed several games this year because of two separate injuries but said he is feeling "close to 100 percent now."

On the second play of Friday's game, he took a reverse hand off and then heaved a 66-yard touchdown pass to Jarrett Eaton. St. Paul's had a comfortable lead the rest of the way.

"I couldn't see anything," he said of the pass. "I just let it go and hoped he was out there."

On St. Paul's final drive of the first half, Armour-Davis made two big plays. His 39-yard kickoff return set the Saints up at the Beauregard 48. His 22-yard reverse moved the ball to the Hornet 11. They eventually settled for a field goal and a 38-14 halftime lead.

After Beauregard opened the second half with a long touchdown drive to cut the lead to 38-20, Armour-Davis responded again. This time, he returned the ensuing kick 67 yards to the Hornet 20. Four plays later, a Swift Lyle TD pass made it 45-20.

"As a team, we prepared well for this game," he said. "Our coaches told us what to expect, and we followed the plan. Personally, I feel like I am as close to 100 percent as I have been in a while. We just need to get this next win to get to the big show."

Armour-Davis also played well on defense - his main position. In one-on-one coverage, he batted down a pair of long passes that could have been pivotal plays in the game.

Armour-Davis committed to Alabama in June over offers from Auburn and Florida State.

Jonah is an edge OL. Might be better suited to play RT than LT, but IMO, he's talented enough to be on the edge and he proved it last year.

LT- Leatherwood
LG- Willis
C- Ross P
RG- Womack
RT-Jonah

This would be my preferred OL. Womack has shown he doesn't have the feet to play the edge.

I agree about Jonah moving back to RT. Plus if Tua were to get the job his blind side will be from the right and need experience over there plus I think Jonah looked natural there last year. Fluker was the way as many thought he would end up at the LT spot but he was a natural for us at the RT.

Just wish we could get a few guys like DJ and Chance that play with anger in the trenches
