Hootie should've been moved to LB. I know at practice they experimented with him as a LBer but they should've just moved him because he is not even a good college safety.

Tell me how many 3rd down conversions or defense have up.

Then come back and make more excuses for how they don't share blame

Whether there were 3, 4, or 5 stars who had issues yesterday it was a lot of little things that led to a big fat goose egg. The team was very clearly out of steam and injuries played a big part in that. Jalen has immense talent, the Alabama football team wouldn't have been undefeated going into yesterday had it not been for him. He has the arm and the feet obviously to give a lot of defenses fits, but passing seems a little more scripted than it needs to be for a team with a DL like Auburn had. They were able to get a lot of pressure with just 4 and 5 guys, giving Steele options in coverage and rendering the passing game pretty much ineffective.

The only knock I have about Jalen's time with Kiffin is everything being super scripted for him, which is how Kiffin runs things. It made Jalen look a lot more efficient passing the ball downfield.

The D was clearly on fumes, particularly run D, and it showed when a non mobile QB gains 50 yds and a TD.

It isn't all on the 5 stars or on Jalen

Hootie would get destroyed by a lineman at linebacker. My biggest critique of him is that he's not really physical as a safety. Watch the Mississippi State game when receivers are blocking him to get the RB off tackle.

Saban is really going to have to rebuild this secondary.

Thing is, the opposite can be said at a lot of positions that hurt Bama.

Bama will play veterans that are less talented because they are more experienced in the system. Less mistakes(on paper anyway) to be made that have an impact on the game.

You can't coach raw ability when it comes to 1v1 plays, but you hope you've coached them enough for them not to make schematic errors.

I love these player for everything they've done for Bama, but losing some of these upperclassmen will make the 2018 team better.

Why he was a CB in HS.

People pointed to his size, but takes more than that.

Definitely. I'll take Willis at RT next year please.

What will our guards look like?

I'm hoping Womack ends up in that group. He is good at runblocking, but man watching him kick out is snap by snap adventure.

I get a weird feeling Pierschbacher may leave, his tenure feels kinda monotonous. He might get a shot at Center again with BB gone though. Hass graduates, and Kennedy had a broken leg, depth is nadda at Center.

And I read it on the board this week, but I'd like to laugh at the statement Hass was better than Ross at LG. He got whipped on 2 drives by Russell before putting a less than 100% Ross in.

Had Hootie went to LSU he would've been a LBer eventually. Kid ain't a safety. He's a liability at safety. I think Hootie could've been coached up to be a serviceable LBer. But, as a safety? He simply doesn't have the instincts or football IQ.

I hope not. I had a class with Ross and Hass, and they always seemed happy. Ross was supposed to be one of the leaders on the line.

We just really need to get our MO back up front. Outside of '08, the years we haven't won a title, we really haven't had a dominant oline. '15 was bad on the right side, but we were a dominant run blocking team.

Maybe the long-term commitments to Ross and/or Cotton will pay off in 2018.

Ross has been consistent, but not spectacular. The Anthony Steen of the line, always between "better" players.

I was surprised at Cotton being just a Junior. If he was as hard to move at the point of attack as he is from the top of the depth chart, he'd be great.

He, like the right side of the OL, is so inconsistent. Dating back to when he was put back in last season after Shank had to quit football. You would gain confidence in him, then BOOM, Tennessee game 2016.

Well we get an extra week for recruiting. I hope that week is spent recruiting the shite out of Corral.

I hope it's spent recruiting the shiite out of DL and DB prospects, given how thin we'll be and how out-worked/out-recruited our staff has been this cycle and last year's.

The most interesting stat from the game last night I heard was that the path to the NC(BCS) & CFB goes through the Iron Bowl. Since 2009 the winner of the Iron Bowl has been in the BCS NCG and/or the CFB playoffs.

If Jimbo goes to A&M I wonder if that will help us flip Robert Cooper since we badly need quality DT's in this class.

Well I hoping that doesn't happen this year. I don't want Auburn to win the natty.

Bobby Brown said Sumlin’s firing will not affect his commitment there.

More good news

Really?

Seems like a poor fit.
