Watching YouTube on my phone the hat looked orange. I was very dejected for a second.
I was just confused, and ran back here to see who he actually picked.

So is Saint going to post 149 pages of animal boners to get this to 1,000?

Four-star defensive end and Jack linebacker target Jarez Parks has committed to Alabama as a grayshirt candidate, BamaOnLine has confirmed. Parks announced his commitment via a Bleacher Report video and TCPalm.com's Facebook page.
The Sebastian (Fla.) River product opted for the Crimson Tide over additional offers from Auburn, Florida and Florida State, among others. But not without some Signing Day drama. Parks was set to announce his decision earlier Wednesday, but that was halted as Alabama’s class was filling up. Ultimately, however, the Sunshine State product pledged his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
Even though he was asked to grayshirt, the four-star had his heart set on Alabama, per BamaOnLine’s Tim Watts. At the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Parks said the Tide had the “edge” in his recruitment heading into the final month before Signing Day.
“It’s straight, they’re very welcoming when it comes to the recruits and who they are recruiting and everything like that,” Parks told BamaOnLine of the Tide. “They try to get to know the player and what they’re all about versus what they can offer to the school. It’s nice they try to get to know the kids and show it’s genuine what they’re actually looking for versus just something to help out the school. They want to help you out.”
After taking an official visit to Alabama and Florida State in November, the 6-foot- 3, 253-pound U.S. Army All-American didn’t take another visit in the month of January despite having tentative plans to see Auburn and Florida.
Tide offensive line coach Brent Key headed up Parks’ recruitment. Earlier this month head coach Nick Saban visited the four-star defensive end at his high school.
Parks is rated the No. 7 weak-side defensive end and the No. 93 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
At the time of his commitment, Parks was trending to Alabama at 67 percent on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.
Parks, a 4.0 GPA student, plans to pursue pre-med in college.

Can they do that? I thought once they were recruited, they had to have a football scholarship.

I would have to look up the rule but my understanding he would only be a counter once he suited up for practice or got involved officially with the team.

So he could come to UA and start his academic classes before next January

Hell. There's a thread on the LSU signing day board about Parks nearing 100 replies.

Correct. Hell, he may even get a spot before Fall camp starts like Bradley Bozeman.
