Yeah ok then. Tosh Lupoi who is surely to be his position coach is just some poor average, run-of-the-mill OLB coach.. Riiiight.
Ask the players and all the elite recruits he pulls, they all hate him.

LINK ]Nick Saban visits Akial Byers as Alabama DL commit works to attain eligibility

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is a believer in Akial Byers.
One day after the Fayetteville, Ark., four-star defensive lineman returned home from his official visit to Alabama, Saban and Alabama assistant Billy Napier went to Fayetteville High School to meet with Byers, some of his coaches, administrators and support staff members at the school.
Last month in Orlando, Byers said he needed to raise his ACT score to qualify academically, and he was confident in doing that.
"It was a lot of fun and it was quite an honor," said Benji Mahan, one of Byers' coaches at Fayetteville. "(Saban) wanted to solidify things by coming by the school today and wanted to meet with the principals and counselors who have been working with Akial trying to get him where he needs to be. It was a more of a 'thank you' type deal and he wanted to meet some people behind the scenes."
Mahan noted that Byers "has some work to do in (the academic) area, but it's all very attainable."
Mahan believes Byers will sign with Alabama on National Signing Day, but didn't want to speak on behalf of Alabama or Byers and his family if he does not meet qualifying status.
"My end is to try and get him there," Mahan said.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Byers committed to Alabama in July.
"They still think he has a very high ceiling," Mahan said. "When he gets involved with the nutrition and the weight program, there's no telling what that guy is going to be able to do. They see him as a defensive end in a 3-4 and when they drop a linebacker down, he moves to a three-technique and he can be really special in that spot."
Byers said last month that he didn't have any visits scheduled other than Alabama, and that still looks to be the case. He'll remain home this weekend and sign on Feb. 1.
"There were some other schools that kind of came in late," Mahan said. "He has not told me that he's not going to visit anywhere, so I think he's fully committed to Alabama and the plan they have for him."

Todd Harris, four-star safety from Plaquemine High School in Louisiana, was one of the top uncommitted prospects in Tuscaloosa for an official visit this past weekend.
"The visit was good," Harris said. "I had a good time. My mom, dad, brother and aunt went with me. My mom and aunt have been there with me before. It was my dad's first time. My bother went up there for a game with me.
"Hanging out with the staff was really great. It was good to spend time with Coach Saban. Just getting to know him and the players better. It was good to have a fun weekend. We put football aside. It was fun going to Coach Saban's house and riding go-carts. That was something new. I haven't done that on any visits.
"The food was great. We had a lot of food. I didn't leave hungry. The best meal was probably when we went to Chuck's Fish. They had a ton of food. My plate was heavy. I had steak, fish, potatoes and fries."
I plan on majoring in Sports Management. We sat down with the academic advisor. He was telling us different things like the background of his career. He talked about how successful he was with taking the major and stuff like that.
"My mom and dad really enjoyed the visit. They told me it's my decision. I can say they really enjoyed the visit at Alabama though."
Harris spent a lot of time around Coach Saban and the rest of the coaching staff.
"Coach Saban just telling me about the opportunities the University of Alabama brings outside of football," he said. "He talked about how successful I can be at the University of Alabama.
"He talked about how hard it is to fail with so many people in your corner. He said you really only fail if you want to fail. The support will be there. If you want to play ball at Bama you have to work hard. Nothing is handed to you. You have to take advantage of opportunities in front of you.
"Coach Burns is my recruiter. He is the one who comes around a little more. I feel like I have a great relationship with the whole staff. Coach Saban and I have a good relationship. Coach Pruitt is cool. He is real straightforward. Coach Ansley is my dude. He also keeps it straightforward. The players said he is real cool outside of football."
Alabama has recruited well in Louisiana throughout the years. It comes as no surprise he was hosted by a Bayou State product.
"Shyheim Carter was my player host," Harris said. "He is cool. We were on the same 7-on-7 team a few years ago. He is also from the Boot (Louisiana). I already knew him a little bit. I was just getting to know him better. I enjoyed hanging out with him. He was telling me just to come in and work really hard. He was also saying to take advantage of opportunities. He said at Bama you have to come work hard.
"I already knew a lot of the guys in my class who were there like DeVonta Smith, Dylan Moses, Chris Allen, Markail (Benton) and Mac Jones. I know a handful of those guys from previous events. Of course, I kept hearing 'savages want to play with savages' and come play with Bama. They didn't give me too much pressure. They are just trying to see what's going on with me."
Harris has very high interest in the Crimson Tide following his final trip to Tuscaloosa before he announces a college decision.
"How they feel and go about everything," he said when asked what he likes about Alabama. "They are successful in everything they do. They develop great men. Football will end one day.
"They have the 1st and 10 club with alumni. They sit down with players. They help set them up with a career after football. That stood out. Coach Saban said the only other program that does that he knows about is Ohio State. It's something my mom really likes about Alabama. They are also winning championships. They create young great players. Everyone seems so focused. The brotherhood is really strong there."
The finalists are Alabama, Arizona State, LSU and TCU. A decision is expected on National Signing Day (February 1).
"They are all pretty close if not equal," Harris said. "After the TCU visit I will sit down with my parents and see what they think about everything. All pretty equal in terms of recruiting me the hardest. It's getting down to the end. I am hearing from all a lot right now.
"Arizona State is coming on Wednesday. Coach O (Ed Orgeron) is coming sometime this week or maybe this weekend after my TCU visit. I know Coach Ansley is also coming back down there this week."

Nick Saban will look to make it a third-straight class he has signed as five-star linebacker as Alabama has extended an offer to the nation's No. 1 outside linebacker for 2018, Palaie Gaoteote, according to his Twitter account.
The Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman product adds the offer to a long list of others including Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC.
Currently the 247Sports Crystal Ball reads 86 percent to Ohio State and 14 percent to USC.
At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Gaoteote is rated the No. 15 overall player in the class per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
Last season, Gaoteote amassed 68 tackles, including 11.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks.

So Ruggs Twitter handle may have nothing to do with his announcement date. It's also his birthday.

3. THE FIVE BIGGEST DECOMMITS IN THE 2017 CLASS
Who have been the biggest, seismic-level decommitments so far during the 2017 recruiting cycle? I’m not including former Baylor commitments for obvious reasons. Here they are….
1. QB Hunter Johnson from Tennessee to Clemson – The Vols need an elite quarterback badly, someone who can lead the offense and complete passes with consistent accuracy. Perhaps Jarrett Guarantano is that guy, but it sure would have been nice to have Johnson there to compete and push for the job. Instead, Clemson just adds another weapon to its arsenal.
2. DE Josh Kaindoh from Maryland to Florida State – The Terps needed Kaindoh as badly as any player in the country and the Seminoles just swooped in and stole him away. Florida State has hurt Maryland in the DMV area for years. The 'Noles just added another freak athlete to their defense while Maryland was hoping to build around the defensive end.
3. DT Aubrey Solomon from Michigan to ? – Michigan could get him back, so this one wouldn’t be a big deal if that happens, but if Jim Harbaugh loses Solomon after a mistaken snail mail incident and after wooing him with go-kart rides, it will hurt. Gap-shooting defensive tackles from the Southeast are hard to land in Big Ten country. Just ask Urban Meyer, who hasn’t done it yet.
4. WR Tyjon Lindsey from Ohio State to Nebraska – This should be higher right? It would be if Ohio State didn’t recruit at such a high level. I expect Ohio State will find a dynamic slot receiver in 2018 if they don’t land one down the stretch. That being said, the Buckeyes need wide receivers who can play that Curtis Samuel role in Meyer’s offense and Lindsey would have been a perfect fit. Losing him hurts.
5. LB Dylan Moses from LSU to Alabama – LSU fans won’t agree with this as most feel Moses is overrated (of course) and is closer to his ceiling than most other prospects since he burst on the scene so young. But losing a Baton Rouge linebacker, a key position of need, to Nick Saban hurts no matter what excuses are made.
