So Scott Lasley said in an interview that LSU and Les Miles negative recruited the most. Told him how many linemen Alabama was bringing in, and said the QB issues would cause Alabama to struggle in 2016.

Oh my god, that's good for a laugh. If I were the recruit I don't know if I'd laugh at the irony or be insulted that Les thinks I'm that dumb

Here's the transcript of that interview with SEC Country.
quote:
Q: How much negative recruiting was out there?
Lashley: There was tons of that. A lot of it came from the fans, but some from the coaches, too. We went to Coach Les Miles’ house on my official visit there and he was like — he didn’t say Alabama by name, but what he was saying added up to be Alabama. He was just talking about how there is a battle between the quarterbacks right now. He was saying how they are losing big-time players on defense, so it’s not going to be the same. He told me how Alabama had two early enrollee offensive tackles. Your chances may be slim to none. He didn’t say Alabama, but you could figure out which school he was talking about.
The worst thing I heard from a coach was that if I didn’t attend their school, I would not make it to the NFL. I showed my utmost respect when he said that and listened to what else he had to say, but the next day, I told him that I didn’t think their college was the best place for me. That was the last conversation I had with him. (He declined to say which coach or school said this.)

Our 2018 TE commit got a 4-star ranking in the updated Top 247:
quote:
Making his debut for the first time in the Top247, Alabama tight end commit Malcolm Epps comes in at No. 82.
Epps, a 6-foot-5.5, 230-pound prospect, visited Tuscaloosa in February for Junior Day just days after earning an offer. The Houston (Texas) Dekaney product committed to the Tide on the trip.
At the moment, Epps holds three additional offers from Florida State, LSU and Texas A&M. He will surely continue to garner interest and plans to continue taking visits to other programs.

Dare Rosenthal dropped in the latest ranking from a 5-star to a 4-star:

247Sports released its Top247 for the 2018 class on Thursday afternoon, with both of Alabama’s commitments in the cycle making an appearance.
Ferriday (La.) offensive tackle Dare Rosenthal dropped in the rankings from the No. 11 overall player, to the No. 53 overall player in the country.
Rosenthal committed to Alabama last May upon receiving an offer. The 6-foot-7, 290-pound Louisiana native, made headlines in recent months when he transferred to IMG Academy only to transfer back to Ferriday a month later.
LSU will be the Tide’s stiffest competition in holding on to the elite tackle. Rosenthal holds offers from the Tigers, Florida State and Baylor, among a few others.

Tank is a badass OL name.

Maybe it's a coincidence, but with Michigan's sudden interest in all things Alabama, they just happened to finally decide on a ring ceremony for their 2000 Orange Bowl win over us. When is it? At their spring game.
