Cam Akers is announcing tonight.

All signs, and CBs, are pointing to Florida State.

At least he'll be out of the conference.

Tim Watts on Najee Harris:

quote:

What we do know at this point is that Michigan made a full-court press for the Antioch (Calif.) native and while the Wolverines still believe they have a shot, they aren’t overly optimistic he ultimately flips his nearly two-year commitment. From the Alabama side, it’s believed the Tide will hold off UM with at least one, if not more, decision makers heavily in favor of his final destination being Tuscaloosa.

Another safety Alabama remains in play for is former commit Xavier McKinney. Sources feel it’s a 50/50 toss up right now between Alabama and Clemson. Since decommitting last July, McKinney has gone back and forth over the last few months. Sources near the four-star safety from Roswell (Ga.)’s recruitment believe he is legitimately torn.

I hope our 8 commitments in the UA game work on McKinney this week. He's my favorite Safety in this class.

Lance Taylor is going to be a pain recruiting the state of Alabama for Stanford. We need to get him back to Tuscaloosa.

Dude can recruit, and has always killed it at Bama, but there is a reason he can't keep a job more than 2-3 years. If Saban signed up for round 3 with the guy I'd be pretty surprised.

BOL doesn't seem too confident on DeAngelo Gibbs this morning. It sounds like they are conceding him to Georgia IMO.

Hank never did put in a CB for him yesterday. It'll be interesting to see if he puts one in today.

One thing I've noticed on Hank's CB predictions is that he's not very good on following through with one if he mentions it prior to doing so.

Meaning if he says he is close to putting one in for a certain player he usually waits so long that the player commits before he can get it in or his recruitment swings towards the competition which keeps him from putting it in.

He said he was close to CBing Chris Allen to Alabama for months and never did. As well all know Allen committed to Alabama.

Same thing with Gibbs. He's been "close" to putting one in for Alabama for weeks now.

You're thinking of Lance Thompson. This is a different person

Now the "insiders" on BOL are starting to concede Gibbs to Georgia.

"Insider" on BOL predicted we finish with these players:

quote:

I will go with:

Ray

Smith

Ruggs

Solomon

Harris or McKinney

No mention of Kinlaw or Mathis FWIW. I really, really want McKinney. He's a beast.

I hope he's right on Solomon too.

He wasn't mentioned in the article, but neither was Phidarian Mathis.

Another BOL "insider" has chimed in on Gibbs:

quote:

Kirby been involved, UGA should give that Lecounte (spelling) kid a check or recruiting coordinator title. He is very influential in state. With all that bama still feel good about Gibbs right now

From the Under Armour Check-in Thread on 247:

quote:

Bama commits Jerry Jeudy and Daniel Wright have arrived at the hotel. FSU commit Stanford Samuels as well. Uncommitted 4-star CB Christopher Henderson also with the group from South Florida.

quote:

Per Keith Niebuhr: DE Ryan Johnson is out with an ankle injury. He will not fly into Orlando until later this week. Official visits in January are Stanford on the 13th, Auburn on the 20th, Texas 26th and Bama on the 28th.

Wonder if he left out Parks for a reason, or as an oversight. Most think he's a silent already.

Alabama quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa hasn’t rested much since leading the Saint Louis School Crusaders to a state championship in November. He’s been preparing for the next chapter of his life, which begins in just a few weeks.

Tagovailoa, a 4-star prospect from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, is set to enroll at Alabama shortly after competing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7. Until then, Tagovailoa has been working hard with his trainer, Kimo Luna.

Ever wonder what it’s like in the gym for the quarterbacks? Now you can after you watch the video above.

As previously reported on SEC Country, Tagovailoa is locked in with his commitment to the Crimson Tide. He recently responded to hearing the news about Steve Sarkisian being named Alabama’s new offensive coordinator.

“It’s awesome to hear that Coach Sark is Alabama’s new offensive coordinator,” Tagovailoa said. “For me, it wasn’t so much of if he will become the offensive coordinator, but more so when he would. I’m happy for coach, and this is an opportunity for this program offensively to move in a different direction.”

Lance Taylor, former Alabama WR in the Franhione/Shula era. Was a grad assistant under Saban.

I think you may be thinking of Lance Thompson. Former Alabama assistant under Dubose and Saban. And a-hole extraordinaire.

At the same time with LT though, he is an asset for Stanford on recruiting Alabama. Alabama will never have a problem recruiting instate.

His value is much more important in that regard elsewhere...
