REDONDO BEACH, Calif. – Los Angeles brought it on Sunday at the second regional stop of The Opening's 2016 tour. In an event that had even more talent than last weekend's Orlando stop, several prospects had very strong showings.

3. Wyatt Davis, OT, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco – Big, physical and athletic, Davis looks like the best California has to offer at offensive line this cycle. He may be a guard on the next level but he's a rare, elite guard if that's where he plays. Alabama leads the Crystal Ball for Davis.

What happened to Otis? I was skeptical about his hiring, but I thought he would last longer than this

What was the other guy's position that left for Maryland recently?
Different sides of the ball, but yes. Aazaar Abdul-Rahim worked with the DBs.
Wouldn't be shocked if Locksley is the WR or RB coach this time next year...

Our preferred walk on kicker just backed off of his commitment

First T-Ferg in bball now walk-on kicker! WTF?!?!?!?!?!

This isn't as bad as Ferguson, unless he goes to another school as a walk-on. If he ends up with a scholarship somewhere else, then it's hard to blame him for making this decision.
It sucks because it leaves us in a lurch, but what can you do?

I do think he was on the staff for a short period of time (may have been long enough to get one paycheck), but he's supposedly not any more. Some think he is at UNC. Don't know for sure though.

BamaK posted that Yelverton never actually made it to Ttown (some legal i's and t's never dotted and crossed).
What stinks about Wasson isn't his talent. We'll likely get someone as good or better. But now we'll likely give a scholarship to a kicker next year (whereas Wasson was a walk-on). So that'll be one less that we can give to a position player. That's what really stinks.

As long as we keep Harris, Fromm, and Akers, I won't care what we end up with. We just need to keep those 3

A good kicker is worth his weight in gold. Dont have any problem giving a kicker a scholly as long as he is a bad arse kicker.

Wasson was the class of 2016. A likely replacement between now and August will be a walkon as well. How does that have any bearing on giving a scholarship to a kicker, if you're so convinced said kicker would be "as good or better"? Wasson, or any potential replacement, was set to redshirt. And I am sure a scholarship kicker for 2017 was already in the plans (and would have been for 2016 had Piniero not flipped to UF).
Regardless, why do so many people have severe issues with using scholarships on special teams players? Special teams literally just won Alabama a national title. And Adam Griffth's second half surge is a big part in why Alabama was even in Arizona for that to occur.
