Leatherwood is likely Alabama's starting LT in 2017. He's not going to Texas or Michigan unless they downright guarantee him the starting LT spot.

Williams and Baker disagree with that.
I can see Leatherwood starting at RG next year.

RT. Jonah to LT.
I know that OLs sometimes take a little while to gel, but ours isn't doing very well in the run blocking department so far this year. I guess we haven't signed enough 5*.

Why bring in Baker if he can't come in and start right away.
I got Williams and Baker at tackle and Leatherwood at guard. Unless, Williams is moved to center. Saban did mention that is a possibility.

It could happen. But our luck with Juco OTs in recent years has been ... umm... spotty. To be nice.

James Carpenter
Aaron Douglass
Leon Brown
Dominick Jackson
Charles Baldwin
Carpenter was really the only one who came in and solidified the line day 1.
Brown and Jackson had high expectations, but really failed to make early impacts. And often were the weak links of their lines, not what you want out of your JuCos.

Very true. We'll see. At least some are saying Baker might be the best of the bunch (at this point in their careers), though.

Good for him.

Who is class of 2018 Jacquez Jones' father? I saw him listed as a legacy in an article title.

Moses sets December commitment date
Dylan Moses had previously said that he was going to announce his commitment in December, and now we know exactly when college football fans will know where arguably the most recognizable recruit in the Class of 2017 will play next year.
Moses, a 5-star outside linebacker for IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), announced that he’ll make his college commitment on Dec. 15. It’s unknown how he’ll make his decision, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him do it on ESPN. He appeared on the cover of ESPN The Magazine as an eighth-grader, committed to the Under Armour All-American game, which is an ESPN event, and he’s been close to the Worldwide Leader in Sports for several years now.
I’ve written this for several months now, but LSU should be considered the clear favorite to land the nation’s top outside linebacker. Moses has been close to Tigers coach Les Miles ever since he appeared on the recruiting scene. He’s also good friends with Miles’ sons, Manny and Ben.
Moses was visibly unhappy at the end of the 2015 college season when LSU’s administration made it crystal clear that Miles was on the brink of getting fired. During that time, Moses had Alabama as his leader and didn’t name LSU as one of his favorite schools.
The only way I don’t see Moses at LSU is if Miles gets fired this year. He’s definitely on the hot seat once again, so it’s possible he’s not coaching the Tigers in 2017. If that’s the case, Alabama and Texas are likely landing spots.
Texas led for Moses this spring, but he has since said there are no favorites at this moment. It’s really a three-team race. He recently said Alabama is recruiting him the hardest. That statement was backed up by a source close to the team who said the Tide are doing what they can to get Moses on board.
The same source also said he believes he’s all LSU’s at the moment. But again, that changes tremendously if Miles is fired.
Moses will be an early enrollee at the school he chooses, so that’s why he’s deciding to commit in December instead of waiting until National Signing Day in February.
Moses will take an official visit to Alabama on Oct. 1 for the Kentucky game. That will be a key trip for the 5-star player if LSU decides to make a change later this year.

Sideline observations
I was on the sidelines for Alabama’s 38-10 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday, taking pictures for SEC Country. Because of that, I was close to the recruits on the sidelines during warmups. I spotted several things of note:
-This isn’t groundbreaking or shocking news by any means, but LaBryan Ray is definitely a wanted man in Tuscaloosa. Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi, defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley and defensive line coach Karl Dunbar made sure to check in with the 4-star recruit. No recruit that was in attendance received more attention than Ray. All of the aforementioned coaches spent some time with Ray, and I’m not just talking about a quick hello. Dunbar spent several minutes watching Alabama practice with Ray by his side. Ray is a very quiet kid, but you could tell he was having a good time. Every time I looked his way, he had a big smile on his face. The Under Armour All-American is not going to say he has a leader in his recruitment, but he is Alabama’s to lose. It would be a big shock if Ray committed elsewhere.
-Alabama quarterback commit Mac Jones and offensive line commit Hunter Brannon were chatting it up prior to the game. Lots of smiles and laughs from those two as they work on growing a relationship prior to enrolling at Alabama. Jones and Brannon are two of the Tide’s most solid commitments.
-Major wide receiver target Devonta Smith did in fact make it to Tuscaloosa. Jones made sure to get in his ear. Alabama is still viewed as the favorite for the 4-star prospect from Amite, La.
-A couple of major 2018 prospects, wide receiver Seth Williams and defensive back Myles Mason, had a few staff members come up to them and show love. They are two of Alabama’s most-wanted prospects in 2018.
-LSU 2018 5-star cornerback commit Kelvin Joseph did not make it to Tuscaloosa. He instead stayed home in Baton Rouge and checked out the Tigers’ game against Jacksonville State.
