I don't believe Bama will sign Wilson. Based on what people in the coaching/booster clique are saying about his recruitment, it sounds like another Greg Little situation. We'll continue recruiting him and going through the motions, but I don't think we have much of a shot.
I know you guys don't like to hear this stuff, but it's a reality. We get our hands dirty sometimes, but we don't usually stick in it with the HUGE $$$ bidding wars. Just as BamaK predicted before he even visited OM, the OM folks are already starting to feel pretty good about their chances of landing him. Will be interesting to see what happens with them and the NCAA.
The same people who were saying what would happen with Little are saying similar about the Wilson situation. We'll see. But their past accuracy on such things doesn't give me the warm fuzzies (to say the least) about Bama's chances with him.

Ole Mi$$ still paying for recruits with the NCAA already breathing down their neck, can anyone else say death penalty.

I hope what I posted is innaccurate and he signs with us. But probably best not to get our hopes up.
I'm on my phone and don't have the emoticons handy, but any of those "bangs head against the wall" or frustration emojis would apply to trying to get an elite DT in SEC recruiting territory. That's where the sharks come to play. Not for the faint of heart.

William Barger, former Bama OL who covers Alabama and gets his info straight from Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt and Kirby Smart.

Barger is Redfish, not BamaK.

He doesn't talk to Smart. Don't think he ever has. Pruitt, Cristobal, and a few others occasionally. But he has a lot of connections all over. Boosters, assistants on other staffs (not just Bama's), high school coaches, agents, former players. For the heat he's received on the net for the Cam Newton tapes comments and "Cracker 7" comments a few years ago, the guy is as plugged in as anybody on the net. And I've found him to be a superb talent evaluator of OL and DL recruits. I don't say that as a gullible follower, but as someone who has seen him be quite accurate over the last few years on line recruits that are even no higher than 3*. I know Jonah Williams and Leatherwood are both consensus 5* guys in different classes, but he's essentially said that both guys are among the top 5 best OL prospects he's ever seen on film. He was saying that before Williams was boosted to 5* last Summer, and was saying that he thought Williams was better than Little then. Hopefully he turns out to be correct about that.
BamaK, though he does tend to sunshine pump some when he throws his opinion in, actually does have a lot of good sources. Redfish is one of those, though.
DrewD is beginning to acquire a lot of good sources. And he works hard at it, and loves it. He actually played a part in helping us land Joshua Jacobs this past class. Not through anything illegal. Just through learning about him through connections, and alerting our staff about him.
Rodney Orr is basically as plugged in as redfish. And both of those two are very straight shooters who don't sugar coat.
Those four guys and a couple others that probably would prefer not to be named on a public board (that are known posters on Bama sites) are the sources of any info I post on here. I, myself, don't talk to anybody.

In other news, Oregon's QB commitment decommitted today. And Tate Martell just decommitted from A&M, and is expected to go to Oregon. Lol. Poor Aggie.

Picture of A&M's program right now. It has grown from a dumpster fire to a tire fire.

They better stay away from our Mexican

Lol. Are you guys following this? A&M's WR coach went on a rant on twitter after Martell's decommitment. Immediately after that, 4*WR Mannie Netherly decommitted and 5*WR Tyjon Lindsey eliminated A&M from contention. Unreal.

Yeah I'm wondering if Moorehead is drunk or something. Now I see why CNS kept his assistants off Twitter for so long

Yeah I wonder if Kiffin has been pushing the envelope with his Tweets, and how long that will continue.
Most of the other coaches just use Twitter to DM and to post those recruiting posters.

That kid isn't high profile lol. According to 247 he is rated the 34th best WR. Well he is the most known so you're right

Josiah Coatney posted a video of the OM and Bama hats. His Bama hat is the new championship hat, but the price tag is still on it which makes me think he can return it. Rebear lock.

He was probably given the Ole Miss hat and had to buy the Bama one. Ole Mi$$
