We don't need to get 5-star CB's every year. To be honest, we cleaned up the past two years getting two each year. We're stacked for a while now.
It would be nice to get Nigel & Knotts but they aren't really going to make this class or break it.
What we do needs is good DE though. If the people I think are going to leave, end up going, then we will be very short there.

That is what you get when you have 17-18 yr olds.

Agreed. Not only will we lose a lot at DE after this season, but our '15 class is practically void of DE. We have to load up this year.

I assume he is, I wouldnt be too hurt if he left. We supposedly lead for Nigel Knott and Nigel Warrior so it would technically be an upgrade.

I wish we could have held on to him, but if we get Nigel Knott I'll be more than happy. He will eventually be a 5-star when it is all said and done.
As the scholar Butchie from the Wire said "Conscience do cost." In our case replace conscience with recruiting rankings.

In the last three days we've gotten 3 CBs for 2017 OT Noah DeHond, including one from BOL's Hank South.
Posted on 8/10/15 at 11:18 pm to TideSaint
We've also gotten two CBs for WR Jerry Jeudy, one most notably from our dear friend Demetric Warren.

Non-VIP post from some guy on BOL detailing our recruiting going forward:
He's a pretty decent poster based on his past history.

With the decommit of Carter, that leaves us at 18. Many sources felt that Joshua Perry's main draw to Alabama would be that one of his best friends would also be there. Consider Perry's pledge to be very shaky, at best. Perry hasn't spoken publicly about the situation today, but I'd be very surprised if he signs with Alabama. That leaves Alabama with roughly 10 spots left.
The following prospects Alabama is in great shape with, and are the closest to locks you will find.
1) Ben Davis, 4* LB. Gordo, AL
2) Lyndell "Mack Wilson, 5* LB. Montgomery, AL
3) Mykel Jones, 4* WR. Patterson, LA
The next list are considered Alabama leans, who I predict will sign with Alabama
4) Cavin Ridley, 4* WR. Deerfield Beach, FL
5) Gregory Little, 5* OT. Allen, TX
6) Trevon Diggs, 4* ATH. Bethesda, MD
7) Terrell Hall, 4* DE. Washington, D.C.
The next list are literally flip of the coin. Out of these names, I suspect half of them will sign with Alabama to round out the class
8) Devin White, 4* RB. Springhill, LA
9) Nigel Knott, 4* CB. Madison, MS
10) Rashan Gary, 5* DT. Paramus, NJ
11) Rashard Lawrence, DT. Monroe, LA
12) Dontavious Jackson, 4* ILB. Houston, TX.
13) Nigel Warrior, 4* S. Suwanee, GA.
There will be a few current commits that decide to go elsewhere, as always. There will be a few who don't qualify. There will also be a few guys that aren't currently on the radar that end up being part of this class. In the end, most of these guys will sign with Alabama.

Non-VIP post from another guy on BOL regarding our walkon RB Derrick Gore:
quote:
He played HS football in Syracuse NY at Nottingham HS. He made good grades but failed a qualifying test and chose to go the prep school route. He received some offers out of HS but his size was a concern for most of the majors. He still wasn't getting the offers he wanted after prep school and chose to go to Coffeeville Community college. He went with some teammates to visit Bama and fell in love. He played at around 185-190 in HS, but his current weight is around 210 (good weight). Kid is hungry and turning heads. I heard he is already #4 on the depth chart. Pretty impressive for a walk-on.

Nope.
He's high if he thinks he's ahead of Scarbrough or Harris.

Well, technically, he is ahead of Bo due to his injury and suspension by default.

I know nothing of the poster but it is nothing that is not already out there. You and Chatt have that same info for the most part already.

Hank South posted this about Shyheim Carter 11 hours ago:

Kind of an odd update ... but Carter's mentor Vincent Sanders-- the one interviewed in this article-- just retweeted a video from July 22 of Bleacher Report discussing why Carter will excel at Alabama.

Gore is a great name for a RB.
He looks like he could contribute but most importantly he can give the defense a good look in practice without risking the studs.
The emergence of Gore and Xavian Marks might allow Ronnie Clark to work more as an HBack.
Gotta give props to the coaching staff for putting a quick fix on the RB depth problem.
