I don't believe in this insurance thing. Unless this kid is a top QB recruit he will never get to even be used as insurance.
Can anybody give an example of when any of these kids have been?
Don't we have enough cover with a FSU transfer who is starting, two red shirt sophomores and a redshirt freshman?
Bringing in a three-star kid when we know he won't play does nothing for us, except take a spot. It would be smarter to hold off on taking one and make it our selling point so we can bring in the best guy next season.

That's more than enough for this season. My only concern is what happens next year if Cornwell passes all those individuals this year on the depth chart. If I got passed on the depth chart by a younger QB it would be hard to not transfer out.

I'm actually describing the next year. By that time Bateman and McLeod would be redshirt sophomores, Cornwell would be a redshirt freshman and Coker most likely would still be here.
I don't see them transferring just yet.

Your probably right. My fear is based on a hope that Cornwell is so good that Bateman/McLeod/Morris all see the writing on the wall. But that is probably unlikely in just one year on campus (and I still have some hope for Bateman, based on what I am not sure).

Per Florida247 Byron Cowart and Cece Jefferson are considering being a package deal.

They may end up at the same school, but they aren't a "package deal".

Town obviously wanted a stable USC so hiring Lane in particular did not run him off. You can't blame the kid he grew up a USC fan, and when he first started being a fan USC was on their big run in the early/middle part of the 2000s.
But at the same time the only difference between our QB depth chart when he committed and now is the addition of Coker. With Coker having just two years of eligibility remaining how did simply adding him run off the remainder of the 2015 QB class? Any QB that commits to us for the 2015 cycle will be on campus with Coker for just one year. So what changed the calculus if you will that the top 1 or 2 pro style QB was fine committing to us but simply adding Coker made everyone else drop us like a rock?
We don't particularly need a QB this year but an insurance policy would be nice.

Charles Power pointed out that Mekhi Brown was in Gainesville this weekend at the same time as Cowart and Jefferson, yet they did not see each other.
I guess Muschamp kept them apart on purpose.

Nice list.
I think we land the majority of your predictions but I see these guys headed elsewhere:
Cox - Florida
Williams - Georgia
Ivey - Florida
Holland - Auburn
McMillan - Notre Dame

"We're definitely attending the same college together," Ridley said.
Of what he's looking to improve in his own game, Ridley said, "I want to get bigger. Right now I weigh 170. I want to be 180 by the end of the season."
Ridley says he is all set to play this year - "I turned 19 and people thought I was too old, but there's no age restriction on me," he said.
He also says of his academic situation that "I'm in good shape."
He's already 19 and still has a year of high school left?

1. DB Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep
This was the first offseason camp for the nation's ninth ranked player. It took two or three reps for him to knock the rust off, but from then on receivers were lucky to make it off the line of scrimmage against him. Awarded the defensive back MVP, Fitzpatrick's ranginess and physicality were too much for the receivers to handle. He even took some reps as a wide receiver, demonstrating the versatility he showed last season.

BR Power Ranks the Top Athletes in the 2015 class:
quote:
9. Kerryon Johnson
Size: 6'0", 185 pounds
School: Madison Academy (Madison, Ala.)
Junior Season Highlights
Kerryon Johnson and the Mustangs won a second straight state championship. He rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown in the title game, according to WAAYTV.com.
Scouting Report
Johnson stars at running back and defensive back at Madison, although he could contribute as a receiver in college. His length creates plenty of opportunities and allows him to cover taller receivers on defense.
He shows great balance as a runner and body control while hitting a rushing lane. There's also a lot to like about his game at cornerback, where he won't be overmatched athletically.
Recruitment Status
Auburn and Alabama are fighting over this prized in-state recruit. He also received strong interest from Florida State, Clemson and LSU.

quote:
6. Malik Dear
Size: 5'10", 185 pounds
School: Murrah High School (Jackson, Miss.)
Junior Season Highlights
The Mustangs finished 5-7, but Malik Dear made his presence known on a routine basis. He rushed for 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns, adding more than 600 receiving yards and another six scores through the air.
Scouting Report
Dear does so much on offense that it's difficult to predict where he'll play in college, though receiver is more likely than running back. He runs with physicality, breaking tackles and bursting into space.
He's not a burner but makes defenders miss in the open field and doesn't slow down in traffic. He is dynamic in the intermediate passing game and should make a compelling case to play in the slot.
Recruitment Status
Mississippi State and Ole Miss are heavy favorites. SEC rivals Alabama and Florida have also extended offers.

4. George Campbell
Size: 6'3", 184 pounds
School: East Lake High School (Tarpon Springs, Fla.)
Junior Season Highlights
George Campbell and the Eagles reached a state championship game. He caught 31 passes for 769 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 29 tackles on defense.
Scouting Report
Campbell has plenty to prove as a receiver, where he looks uncomfortable at times. His pass-catching skills are adequate but prevent him from taking a leap among America's best downfield targets.
The combination of size and speed keeps coaches salivating about his potential, even if they don't necessarily know where to play him. It's unclear what kind of physicality he would bring to the defensive backfield, but for an athlete of his stature, there is a fit somewhere on the field.
Recruitment Status
He decommitted from Michigan in December, but the Wolverines remain in the mix. Florida, Florida State and Clemson have emerged as top options.
