quote:its called tony brown, marlon humphrey, minkah fitzpatrick and kendell sheffield. we are basically just swapping mcgraw for sheffield, which is an upgrade. custis is neither here nor there in my opinion, a spot that could be used better on anther position. there was no way we were ending up taking 7 dbs, 4 of them being corners
I don't see how we can take the hits of McGraw and Custis flipping without a contingency plan

As first reported by 247Sports National Insider Ryan Bartow, Alabama picked up a Friday afternoon pledge from Top247 offensive tackle Isaiah Prince.
Prince adds to a stacked Crimson Tide Recruiting class that sits and will likely finish No. 1 according to 247Sports for what will end up being on National Signing Day a fifth-straight year.
The 6-foot-6, 272-pound Prince is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the country's No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 105 prospect overall.
Alabama continues to crush the recruiting trail nationally.
Prince is the top-ranked recruit in the state of Maryland.
Five-star cornerback commit Minkah Fitzpatrick is the No. 1 player in New Jersey.
Five-star running back Damien Harris is No. 1 in Kentucky.
Top100 offensive lineman Richie Petitbon is the No. 1 prospect overall in Washington D.C.
Of course Nick Saban and his staff have secured a verbal from the No. 1 in-state player in Top50 defensive tackle Daron Payne.
While five-star Calvin Ridley isn't the No. 1 player in Florida, he is the country's No. 1 ranked receiver according to the 247Sports Composite.
With Prince in the fold, Alabama is up to 26 commits in 2015, with 20 ranking inside the Top247. With a score of 312.5, this class already ranks better than the top-ranked hauls Saban and company secured in 2011 and 2012. The 2013 and 2014 classes are the second and third best classes dating back to 2000, with scores of 319.48 and 319.58 respectively. Florida's class in 2010 is No. 1 with a score 322.79.
The Crimson Tide still have some blue-chippers on the board, so depending on how many more Alabama can take, catching that Gators class may not be out of reach.

CBs for Daylon Charlot to Alabama are rolling in now.

Mehhh No thanks. In order to get that high of a class Urban Meyer sold his soul and recruited on talent alone. It made for a terrible locker room and practice dynamic. Its really not that difficult to get a top 10 class because there are so many 4 stars out there. Its about getting the right players. Saban def takes that too heart. Now and then you can mix in a Robert Foster, but as seen he either commits to doing it the programs way or he doesnt see the field.

I hope he puts it all together too. He was a beast in high school.

I'm about to get rid of all the profiles/highlights on the first page of players we have no shot at so I can start linking Class of 2016 suspects. I assume the mods won't let us continue this thread a la last year, but it will make the transition easier after NSD.

If we started calling it just the "Alabama Recruiting MEGATHREAD", maybe we could keep it. The next one I mean. Putting a year on it makes it just for one class, but if we just make on thread for recruiting, bam. Well, maybe bam.

I know I am way late to the game on this, but I just watched Damien Harris commitment video and my eyes have completely watered up and glossed over. So happy for that young man's mom as she has obviously raised a good kid, by the looks of it on her own. Good for him and her and welcome aboard!
It reminded me of Friday Night Lights and Smash's mom.

I tried that last year.
Chicken slapped that down with all his might.

TS, I know Charlot is must for this class, but how much affect does his commitment have on Hill and Cager?

Not much IMO. I think it will come down to what the staff wants more between adding another WR and another OT.

We have already offered 20 WRs in the Class of 2016.
Three of them are already committed to Miami.

I'd say just wait until Golden gets fired if I wasn't 90% sure Cristobal would be the next HC at Miami.
Per Bone, Bama has CV-O's transcripts and are looking at them. No one really thinks he has a shot other than the people around him. Said if given the greenlight, he would commit to Bama.
May have to just keep the momentum rolling if he can't qualify for this class. Either JuCo or another year in HS will make him even better...

My personal opinion based off need...I would try obviously to keep Rico and since Bama added a LT
Cut Moton loose
Add Charlot back
I would just soon go HAM after Todd Kelly Jr (long shot I know) to get another TE in this class
I'd be just as happy though with keeping Rico

Maybe we will be in for a surprise...adding another OT would be awesome
