LSU offered Patterson today even though they have Feleipe Franks on board.
After lurking on the LSURb it appears Franks is a major baseball talent as well. I guess they assume he could be drafted leaving them without a QB.
Patterson isn't originally from Louisiana so it's hard to gauge his interest in staying in state.

What are the chances of swaying Lewis back to Alabama given our history with Mississippi recruits? And who would likely be next on the board at ILB? Also assuming Lewis is indeed beyond hope I am personally glad he did this now so early in the process.

Right now it looks like Josh McMillon. He announces August 22. Adonis Thomas is another possibility, but I think he is UF bound.

Me too. It doesn't quite feel like being Missisippi'd without it being at the last minute.
Another thing I'm glad about is that we didn't count on Jamal Peters. He has almost seemed like an afterthought compared to Saban's pursuit of Harrison.

I just think our recent failures with MS recruits will perpetuate. Freeze and Mullen will make sure of it. I wouldn't doubt if Benito Jones eventually flips as well.
