Because stealing from Louisiana isn't complete without Corndog Nation, I give you tMeltdown.

quote:

We're the Georgia of the SEC West. This was expected though, so no big deal

quote:

retards like you still post here regularly saying things like this was expected or no big deal.

LSU will continue losing top talent to bama with it's asinine hardline policy of only offering after camp

quote:

/\this/\. Kinda feel like it's to the point that they commit early to Bama just to dig at lsu a Lil.

quote:

This is just pathetic. I'm disgusted at this staff beating their heads into the same damn brick wall. This whole you gotta go to camp to get an offer is complete bullshite...if you're going to go by this strategy then you can't wait until late July to get the kid into camp and grabs a dozen other offers along the way. I'm sick of this shite.

And here we have a Corndog calling Saban an average coach:

quote:

frankly tenacious. There weren't rules in place like there are now (made because of him) but he recruited guys harder than anyone on staff, visited high schools as much, called as much, etc. He truly is the best recruiter ever imo. above Average coach but great recruiter, and in college thats 90% of it.

The SECRB will be out of hand in short order. It's being invaded.

Our '16 class rank is now #2. CNS must've heard me complaining yesterday about being #11

Tide Rolling at The Opening

Considering the continued success Alabama coach Nick Saban enjoys on the recruiting trail, it would be more of a shock if one of his prospects flopped than flourished on such a scene.

Receiver Calvin Ridley lived up to the considerable expectations that come with being an Alabama commit, bringing home The Opening overall MVP honors.

Saban likely took great pride in watching Ridley team up with fellow Crimson Tide commit Blake Barnett. The dynamic pair led Team Apocalypse to the seven-on-seven competition championship.

Ridley also turned in arguably the highlight of the event with his one-handed catch.

Currently, 247Sports has Ridley listed as a 4-star recruit.

Barnett shined during The Opening, winning the seven-on-seven championship and being named Elite 11 MVP.

Look for a bump to 247Sports’ 5-star rating class as a distinct possibility with Barnett’s superb showing, especially after 247Sports’ Barton Simmons wrote that he “showed the most consistency and one of the weekend’s strongest arms.”

While Barnett and Ridley stole the show, several other Alabama commits made splashes.

Deionte Thompson, for instance, turned in another solid showing after 247Sports wrote that the safety turned in a spectacular performance at the NFTC in Houston.

As a result, he could see a bump to 247Sports’ 5-star class.

Thompson earned an honorable mention spot on 247Sports’ The Opening Dream Team. The site also described his closing speed as “among the most impressive” at The Opening.

A pair of future Crimson Tide offensive linemen also impressed.

Lester Cotton and Richie Petitbon stood out—Lester despite not being allowed to compete in pads because of Alabama high school rules.

Petitbon might not have been as outstanding as Cotton—and possibly missed out on a bump to 5-star status as a result—but he still played well. Earlier in camp, 247Sports detailed Petitbon’s powerful punches off the line.

Can't wait for Broussard to go to LSU, if only for the melt LSU fans would have despite landing him. They think we care about missing on recruits. We'll get someone just as good anyway.

New 247 coming out tomorrow.

Barton Simmons

quote:

We're doing some final tinkering today with the Top247 for 2015 following The Opening and the new rankings will be released on Wednesday morning. A couple notes: There will be a new No. 1 in the country There will be a new No. 1 QB in the country There was a lot of movement in the five-star range. Several dropped out and were replaced by new names. As things stand right now. 6 five-stars drop to 4 and 6 four-stars are bumped to 5.

Someone said the same thing to Simmons and his reply was

quote:

OL/DL were in pads. Best event for evaluation for OL/DL that there is. Maybe even including Army Bowl/UA Bowl. Don't think you'll see a ton of LB/RB movement because it's not a great eval setting for them. But is for WR/DB, OL/DL and QBs compared to highlight film evals

Ridley got his composite 5th with scout bumping him up. Sounds like Barnett will be getting one and Thompson/Cotton could potentially as well.
