No doubt from that video that Kiffin is a big reason we got him, so I'll give credit where credit is due. I had pretty much resolved myself to getting Sills

So we currently have 1 fewer commit than Clemson and have 54 more points than they do

I wish Roll Bama Roll would do a Meltdown time for recruits. Would be a good way to pass time in the offseason.

Here is some of the nuggets I've found:

quote:

Because Helfrich can't talk a snowcone into hell like Saban or Kiffin can. Additionally, I don't think we do a great job of "passing the hat around" if you know what I'm sayin'.

quote:

Money talks and bullshite walks.......

quote:

His face epitomizes douche bag who plays for Kiffin

quote:

Congrats to Bama for having superior coaches and better closers. Helfrich and Frost want to know how you take your coffee?

quote:

The Kiffin hire was a real head scratcher. Sure, he may get them CA recruits but Kiffin's ego is too big to remain under Saban.

I know some have expressed concern over his release. This is from a Scout analyst who watched him at the Oakland NFTC last month where he was the MVP:

quote:

Biggins remembers Barnett’s throwing motion being long and inconsistent in the past. Now, he says, Barnett has found a consistent release point and improved his motion to be quicker and tighter.

quote:

“You knew he made some strides pretty quickly, but the fact that it's happening even faster than I thought it would it shows how good he's going to be two or three years from now,” Biggins said. “If anyone wants to say he has the highest ceiling of any of the quarterbacks in this year's class, I don't think you can argue with that at all.”

The commitment of Blake Barnett to Alabama on Wednesday could lead to major developments offensively in Tuscaloosa.

Under Nick Saban, Alabama has never had a quarterback like Barnett. In the past, Alabama under center has been exclusively pro-style quarterbacks that are largely game-managers. Barnett is one of the best athletes in the nation at quarterback in 2015 and while we shouldn't expect him to usher in the read-option in Tuscaloosa, he will be able to extend plays, turn negative plays into positives, allow for some offensive creativity and some option and keep packages from Lane Kiffin.

The No. 3 dual-threat QB in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, Barnett can do everything the nation's best pro-style quarterback can do with his arm but his talent as an athlete is such that his mere presence under center will transform the way a defense has to prepare for the Tide.

The thing is, it's not like our roster is currently stacked with statue like QBs. Sims, Coker, Bateman, and Cornwell are all good athletes who can run though Barnett is probably faster than all of them except Sims.
