I just watched an interview of Malachi Dupre by Nola.com where he was asked to respond to Tony Brown and Marlon Humphrey's claims that they are going to shut him down...does anyone remember TB or MH saying that?

No. They probably made some quotes about creating some sort of "no fly zone", so the La press that likes to play off the swamp aggies insecurities made it sound like it was specifically about one of their players so they could get an interesting quote from him that the swamp brains would eat up.
You have to also remember that LSU fans were pretty ate up when Brown committed to Bama. They thought he was an LSU lock.

REC needs to get to work to create a controversy with the mascot Seminoles. With all the anti indian mascots, the trail of tears, and the fact that there is an African American connection here this would be a home run.

The latter became known as Black Seminoles, although they kept their own Gullah culture of the Low Country.[4] They developed the Afro-Seminole Creole language, which they spoke through the 19th century after the move to Indian Territory.

After the United States achieved independence, its settlers increased pressure on the Seminole, leading to the Seminole Wars (1818–1858).[4] As a result of the wars and national policy, through 1842 most Seminoles and Black Seminoles were removed to Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River.

"They have a ton of momentum," the four-star prospect said. "Ever since the Iron Bowl win, I think that's what really shifted. Even losing the national championship, people in Alabama want to stay in this state. It used to be Alabama, now it's Auburn. They have so much momentum it's unbelievable."
Talk about over-reaction.

Rico McGraw was too hot on Alabama early on for that recruitment to be over.

Hello, fellow fans. I like football, and I would like to contribute to this thread, occasionally.

I've never been to their board, but I'm sure there's much bemoaning. After years of flipping guys from them, why would a list of such be so upsetting?

Some CB updates (mostly bad news
):
Kyler Murray got 3 to Oregon.
Joe Burrow got 2 to Iowa State.
We need him to go to Ohio State. See below.
Travis Waller got 1 to Ohio State.
Devonaire Clarington got 1 to LSU. Sorry ABDIW.
Malik Jefferson got 1 to Baylor.
Hale Hentges got 1 each for Missouri and Ohio State.
The only good news I can filter out of that are the Murray to Oregon picks. If he commits to them next week it could allow us to snag Waller, assumming he doesn't go to Ohio State. However, overall those are some shitty picks for us.

Top247 tight end Will Gragg has one of the more expansive offer lists of any prospect in the nation. Earlier this week, the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder released his planned official visits for the fall with five schools making the cut.
"I've set up a couple of official visits- Texas, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Florida State right now," said Gragg.
The Pine Bluff (Ark.) standout broke down each of the five programs that is in line to receive a visit.
Alabama: "With Alabama, they'd utilize me. That's the first thing I look at. How much you win and when I'd be able to get on the field. They're scarce at the tight end position, so that's a position they really need. They're showing a ton of interest in me and I'm interested in them."
Napier is visiting him today. He says Arkansas is recruiting him the hardest though.

Free article from BOL regarding LSU (they have done a whole series on Alabama's opponents):
I can't believe they actually think they are going to be good with all that they lost.
quote:
With spring practice finished across the country, BamaOnline will take a look at where Alabama's 2014 opponents stand heading into the summer. Next up, one of the biggest games of the season, at LSU.
2013 recap: Outside of its blowout loss to Alabama, LSU’s other two losses were down to the wire and on the road. It lost an exciting shootout to Georgia between the hedges, and was caught off guard by an Ole Miss team that was firing on all cylinders. Otherwise, the Tigers were the only team besides Florida State to beat SEC West champions Auburn and handled Texas A&M in Baton Rouge. Still, LSU fans were probably looking more more in quarterback Zach Mettenberger’s last year.
Biggest losses:
Quarterback Zach Mettenberger: Mettenberger was a JUCO transfer quarterback who started 25 games for the Tigers over two years and gave them a legitimate option under center for the first time since Matt Flynn. Top ten in school history in passing yards (5,783 yards, No. 6 in LSU history) and touchdowns (35, No. 5). Picked No. 178 overall by the Tennessee Titans.
Wide receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry: The Tigers will lose their top two passing threats in Landry and Beckham, who ranked No. 3 and 4 in the SEC in yards per game, respectively. The pair had different skill sets, with Landry the bigger, possession guy and Beckham the shiftier, speed option. But both made it so defenses couldn’t just focus on one or the other. Beckham went No. 12 overall to the New York Giants, while Landry was chosen No. 63 overall to the Miami Dolphins.
Running back Jeremy Hill: Hill made LSU’s running game one of the most punishing in the country. At 6’1”, 233 lbs., Hill had the makeup of a bruising back and was a force between the tackles. He was also quick through the hole and could set teams up perfectly for play action. Picked No. 55 overall by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Offseason questions:
Can Anthony Jennings take over the reigns? Jennings was Mettenberger’s primary backup as a freshman in 2013. When an injury sidelined Mettenberger in LSU’s regular season finale against Arkansas, Jennings stepped in and led a game-winning drive, capped by a 49-yard touchdown pass to Travin Dural. He enters the 2014 season as the likely starter.
Can Tigers reload quickly? LSU led the country in players drafted this year with nine. The Tigers will be especially thin on offense, where they lost seven players, including their quarterback, top two wide receivers and first and third leading rushers. LSU will have a lot of new faces in its starting lineup come fall, and coach Les Miles will need them to assimilate quickly if they want to compete for the SEC West.
Spring game summary: The White team took home a 42-14 win over the Purple team in Tiger Stadium. Freshman Brandon Harris went 11-for-28 with 195 yards and three touchdowns, while Jennings was 9-for-17 for 157 yards and a score. Defensive backs Deion Jones and Kwon Alexander both returned interceptions for touchdowns.
Early outlook vs. Alabama: Tiger Stadium has made for some memorable finishes against Alabama under Nick Saban and 2014 shouldn’t be much different. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva has already got the smack talk going, and the contest should be as heated as it always is. With a lot of questions still to be answered on both sides, the game could swing a number of different ways.
I can't believe they actually think they are going to be good with all that they lost.

The third annual Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour is set for Baltimore from June 7-8 at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. With more than 100 of the top prospects from the classes of 2015, 2016 and 2017 competing, it should be a showdown of talent that can't be missed and this could be an even better group of wide receivers and tight ends than last year.
Last year in Chicago, the Five-Star Challenge roster boasted four wide receivers, Travis Rudolph and Ermon Lane both from Florida and both Florida State signees, Josh Malone from Tennessee (a Tennessee signee), and Malachi Dupre from Louisiana (LSU) who would eventually earn five-star status, so that won't be easy to beat. Texas wide receiver K.D. Cannon dominated the event and helped lead his team to the 7-on-7 title and just fell short of five-star status as well. But as good as the top receivers were, there were many last year that disappointed and didn't live up to the billing and it was top heavy at the position.
At tight end, Daniel Helm from Illinois (Vols signee) stood out from the rest by far, but it wasn't a group that dominated the action. This year, I don't foresee four future five-stars at wide receiver, but the depth is much better and the athleticism at tight end is light years ahead of last year's group. Of course, it will be hard for any of the tight ends to match what O.J. Howard showed us at the first Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta a couple of years ago.
I'm looking forward to seeing if Florida wide receiver Calvin Ridley (Alabama commit) brings his 'A' game to the event and if he can hold off Da'Vante Phillips for top honors in state at his position. Can Arizona wide receiver Christian Kirk pick up that fifth star despite his small stature (there has never been a five-star wide receiver in Rivals.com history 5-foot-10 or under)? How good is Georgia wide receiver Preston Williams (Vols commit) and is he a five-star talent? At tight end, is Connecticut tight end Chris Clark the best of the group and how will Texas tight end Jordan Davis move as a 250+-pounder? And when it comes to the underclassmen, can Georgia standout Demetris Robertson dominate the way he did at the RCS Atlanta? How good is Florida slot Sam Bruce?
So many questions as the wide receivers and tight ends will obviously play a huge role on both days. As far as ball skills go, this is the best group we've ever had and it should be amazing to watch.

WR Terry Godwin
Hogansville, Ga.
Georgia fans are hoping Godwin is the second coming of former great Champ Bailey. He has the skills to play both offense and defense at the next level and may even try to do both at Georgia. But while his speed is deadly for most defenders, there will be plenty of defensive backs in attendance eager to run with him. The question will be how will Godwin stand out when it comes to facing off against the nation's elite? - Woody Wommack, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst
