I'm drinking tonight and decided to watch the 2013 Bama-LSU game on my DVR. I'm gonna post some thoughts on our returning players in a bit, but I thought I would share a few nuggets in regards to a few of our players that had already graduated as of November.
As some of you know we can have a player on the field who has graduated that doesn't count against the 85 if he pays he own way during graduate school. It limits us on the 105 but frees up a scholly. These are the players that will be on the 2014 roster that have graduated so far:
Arie Kouandijo
Jalston Fowler
Chad Lindsay
Harrison Jones
Austin Shepherd
Brian Vogler
We'll have more after this semester. Don't worry about the 85. We're golden.

Mag, Who do you see as our top in-state priorities?

IMO:
Daron Payne
Kerryon Johnson as a Safety under the guise of RB
Tyler Carr
Darrell Williams
I'm waffling on Carr depending on how many OL they take, there's some elite guys out there they can have. Not that he isn't elite, he's got Fluker type upside.
I think Bell is a take, but not as much considering what Bama brought in. ILB on the other hand is.

If Jauntavius Johnson performs well at camp, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the 2015 class. Nice size...
Jalen Harris has a good frame at TE.

Bucc, How come Bo Scarbrough hasnt sent in his LOI on your sig?
Side note: Kind of cool to think that the 2014 class started with Bo and ended with Bo.

I think there's a concerted effort to get more instate guys in for the 2015 class for whatever reason. It's a deep year.

I think it is the screenshot I took yesterday. I was going to take another once they put Bo's name up, but they never focused back on the board after that.

I just finished watching the Bama-LSU game. I got some thoughts regarding our returning players and who we will miss. Here they are:
-Anyone who thinks Henry will surpass Yeldon is a fricking idiot. He is the best RB we have. He has fumbling issues but so did Lacy before his Junior year.
-Kenyon Drake is a fricking stud. His fumble issues are tough to watch too, but he's our most explosive RB and it's not even close. He gets a thousand yards on the ground. Easy.
-We are going to miss Norwood. Period. He was our clutch WR and his spot needs to be filled.
-Jarrick Williams will take Vinnie's spot and will flourish. He will realize his potential after spending the Spring as a starter.
-Brian Vogler can't block for shite. I had high hopes for him, but he can't block a CB that he outweighs by 70 pounds. His reps will diminish with Howard and TFS grabbing more prominent roles.
-We are going to miss Pagan. He wasn't the best pass rusher, but he played his position well.
-I don't think CJ Mosley will ever be replaced. He was all over the field. Unless Reuben can take his place I don't see anyone on the roster capable of doing it.
-Cody Mandell is the best punter we have had in a long time. I hope someone out of the two walkons and JK Scott can emulate his success.
-Landon Collins will be one of the best players in the country. Hands down.
-We're gonna miss AJ's leadership. I don't know if Coker can replicate that. He has all the physical tools, but leadership is earned.
-Ivory did a good job against Hill. He even got pressure up the middle against LSU. He may not be the answer long term, but he looked good against them.
Bottom line is we are going to need strong QB, LB, CB and DL play next year to sustain our success.
We have the studs in place to make that happen, but they need to grow up quick to make it a reality.

TS not doubting you but can you provide a link for that info. I was under the assumption that they still counted against the 85 as long as they have eligibility left, even if graduated.

I can't. I am going off past history. Barrett Jones played his last season being a graduate student and his parents paid his tuition. He didn't count against the 85, but he did count against the 105.
I'm not saying all the guys I listed will pay their own way, but the precedent is there for them to play without counting against the 85.

I guess I will do some research because my understanding if they have eligibility left and are playing they count. I have never heard that about Jones either is there a link for him specific?

Saint something about that game makes it one of the best in a long time to replay whenever you get bored. It is a highly entertaining game for us and we really were firing on all cylinders.

Actually, we weren't until the second half. Our favorite whipping boy, Yeldon, beat their arse when it mattered most.
He finished with over 130 yards against a Top 10 defense, but all anyone will remember is fumbles against Auburn and Oklahoma.

Carr is probably going to Auburn.

I think Coker will be a fine replacement for AJ, but he won't have full "control" of the offense.
I hope Kiffin presents 3 plays when we face a 3rd and 2 so Coker will have options.

Definitely not happening. We've got the experience, plus, there are posters like me that got in late on the first thread that are going to come in and be apart of this one throughout.
In fact, check-in if you came in late last time
Posted on 2/6/14 at 11:54 pm to MrTide33
The Aubie thread is ahead of us, can't let that shite happen.

They're only two posts ahead including this post. You gotta play for 60 minutes. I don't think our posters are complacent.
