I had a broken hand from punching a wall I didn’t realize was concrete when I was a kid and my hand heeled in 1 month almost to the day. Not sure if that is what Mack Wilson’s timeline was or if a foot is different.

I broke my foot and never was effected. The bone still protrudes a little off the side of my foot.

Yea but Mack needed surgery + pins and rods.

Obviously planting and cutting would be affected but Julio and others have had some crazy recoveries after having surgery.

Not knowing the details I couldn't really say but I would suspect as the insider said it would come down to pain.

As far as Lewis and Miller it's probably the same thing, pain. Not acute pain but convincing the neuromuscular system that the injuried area is good to go.

Someone also said Saban got good news on Mack Wilson today and that he could also play in the Iron Bowl.

I guess that's why Saban was in such a good mood today. He was laughing and smiling during cupcake (Mercer) week. That doesn't EVER happen. He's usually going off on a reporter about something. I hope it's true. I'd be terrified right now if I was an Auburn fan

Children heal more quickly than adults typically. I work in an orthopedic clinic, and kids get out of casts quite quickly.

Let's hope Wilson heals quickly though

I believe it was said in the beginning that his recovery would be 4-6 weeks, and by my count the Iron Bowl would be 3 weeks. Sure, it's fast, but not otherworldly.

And from a technical perspective, the pins/rods would actually hold the bones together rather that having to rely solely on natural fusion. From a medical perspective, depending on the specifics, it could be possible for him to play if a) he can't injure himself further, and b) he can tolerate whatever pain exists. This rumor could be true.

Personally, I'm hoping for his return by the SECCG and/or playoffs. Still, it ain't bad news.

they will put pins and rods in to boost stability/ speed recovery for athletes. The same break on an average person might not require any surgery, just more time

In my experience, foot injuries are weird. There are a couple bones you can break in your foot and have almost no loss of normal function. Then there are a couple bones or types of fractures of the foot that can almost never heal completely because of variations in blood supply/location.

Feet are so weird, they have their own medical school.

Not hard to believe abt Lewis and Miller...Big lift even if it's just passing downs. Mack being ready would be amazing.

Well, his recovery time was listed as 4-6 weeks. So...would be so awesome if true.

I did the same thing and it hurt like a mutha for at least 6 months.

Like everyone else has said, foot injuries can vary very wildly.
