His Defensive Recruiting was improving significantly when he left Oregon

Yeah, but Willie Lyles ain't walking through that door in Gainsville.

Or, maybe he will and we can replace as the grove burns with as the swamp floods.

His best defense was the 2010 one, imo. Stanford gave him trouble if I recalled correctly.

He could definitely be dangerous at FL. The only thing about it that makes me smile is LSU hired Orgeron.

Chip has or had a show cause after leaving Oregeon. . They were hit with recruiting stuff. Plus he hates recruiting. I don't see him being a long term answer anywhere in CFB

He hated recruiting at Oregon. If he was going to get a recruit to visit from out of state (say Dallas) and they were flying, they would have to fly to Portland, then drive 2 hours to Eugene. Hardly no one wants to make that trip.

The second is that they've all either quit the SEC or been dominated by Saban.

2-2 record and Meyer won the last one

Gary Pinkel? guy coached at Mizzou and was great. Had health problems so retired

I wouldn't say much about Gus yet, as there is an important game coming up.

Spurrier at South Carolina was never going to compete for national titles

Petrino didn't leave because of Saban

I mean your list is kind of a joke

Meyer quit the SEC because of Saban. Sorry your homer glasses can not let you see that but Meyer jumped ship with the fake heart attack to retire but all of a sudden his health was great and went to OSU.

I would not doubt Meyer leaves OSU in the next 5 years if CJH can get UM going in the right direction and Franklin continues to be a contender.

I thought the heart attack was legit, he was a commentator for a few years and then when Ohio st opened up he felt he was healthy enough. And they did beat us

He resigned after the loss to UA in the SECCG in 2009 but then took leave instead and coached in their bowl game. He came back in March 2010 and coached the 2010 team to a 7-5 record and resigned once more. He did work or ESPN but took the OSU job in November 2011. So was only at ESPN for less then a year.

That's the Lyles reference in my last post. They got probation and Chip got an 18 month show cause that he didn't really fight because he was off to the NFL.

Sorry your homer glasse

How is it my homer glasses. I simply brought up their record against each other and who had won the last game.

He brought up multiple coaches that Saban made "quit" and to me a 2-2 record wouldn't make someone quit (although 1 was after Meyer left the SEC). I also disliked the dig at Pinkel, who is a hell of a coach and had health issues
