Nothing official yet but it looks to be building. I know he made a championship caliber team out of Oregon. Extremely high tempo offense that came up short against the Barn. Not a good recruiter I have read but i personally believe he could make some runs as coach of UF.

He'll have their offense clicking like at Oregon I'm sure. If he can get a decent DC they could be a power.
Florida has proven with a legit coach they are a national powerhouse.

YIKES!...I don't like the sound of this...
On a positive note Tennessee fans are melting even more than I thought possible.

I love it. Hope it happens.

Looks like UF would like to get Frost 1st or Kelly 2nd. Sexton is getting the competition going between NE & UF for Frost. Kelly has a different agent. Hard to tell whether Frost would prefer UF or NE. UF is is playing smart by moving forward on Kelly. It gives UF some leverage against Sexton if Frost wants the UF gig. Either one would be a very good hire by UF.

I realize that Frost played at Nebraska, but other than that, the choice would be easy for most folks. Course, that one thing is a pretty big thing, more so for some than others.

His Oregon teams struggled with Big Physical D Lines. Not a good hire in the SEC IMO

Offensive players are going to want to play for him.
With Kirby at Georgia, Chip at Florida and with Miami riseing from the ashes, going to be tough to recruit the states of Florida and Georgia in the next few years.

I think his schtick is played out. College teams have adjusted to the tempo stuff, they see it every game. This isn't 2010

What made him successful was he did what he did with talent that was not highly recruited and they were successful. Put him in a state that is known for top talent year in year out and I doubt it takes him long to unseat what Kirby has done.

Also remember Kirby and Richt are where they are now because of how good their defense has been. Neither O is flashy and most of the top skilled guys in FL on the O side of the ball will want to play for Kelly and they remember when UF was a contender which is not that far behind us.

I think Chip to UF is a good thing too.
Like stated previously, without a good D, he will be super competitive, but not likely to win it all.
Look at Spurrier. A decade of dominance in the SEC with 1 National Title to show for it. He didn't get that title until he hired Stoops and had an awesome defense.

I guess we'll worry about Florida once every 7 years we play them in the regular seasons

If he has a good DC and staff he'll be able to get plenty of physical SEC-level talent.

Thought TAMU should have fired their coach early on and went and snagged Kelly. You snooze you lose.

True, but on the other hand it'll be better if UF and UT hire coaches who can compete against Kirby at UGA.
It'd also be more competitive and fun if the SEC upgrades the level of coaching.
Gruden or Mullen at UT
Kelly or Frost at UF
Leach or Norvell at Arky
Jimbo or Morris at ATM

This is great news if you want the league to start to thrive again. He will do a good job there.

Steve Spurrier
Bobby Petrino
Les Miles
Phillip Fulmer
Dan Mullen
Hugh Freeze
Will Muschamp
Lane Kiffin
Bret Beleima
Kevin Sumlin
Gus Malzahn
Mark Richt
Gary Pinkel
Urban Meyer
all have two things in common. The first is that they were highly thought of hires and, in some cases very successful coaches.
The second is that they've all either quit the SEC or been dominated by Saban.
Let UF hire Chip. As long as we have Saban IDGAF.

Just seems like a really weird fit personality wise, especially after what they just went through, but winning would cure all.
