As someone very high on Notre Dame, I don't understand ranking them ahead of Alabama

- Bama has the best SOS of the top-25 in all major systems (FEI, FPI, SP+, Sagarin...)
- Bama's SOR is higher than NDs
- Bama is 4-1 vs ranked, ND is 1-2

People are going to make a big deal about the Florida State loss, but FSU is better than their record in power ratings.
- In Sagarin, Pitt is 30, FSU is 31
- In FEI, FSU is 25, Pitt is 34
- In SP+, FSU is 28, Pitt is 35

FSU is very PSU like as a competitive team with bad losses.

Meh.

Just win the next two games and give it all we have in the conference title game.

Tonight will tell us if they actually are valuing strength of schedule. If they put ND ahead of Bama, they are not.

Doesn't really matter either way, but it will be telling.

It does matter though in the future about scheduling. It has no bearing on this year though, we just have to beat Auburn to get to the playoffs. We may also find out if they'll let a three loss conference champion loser in.

They’re using a flawed SOS metric.

They have IU and OSU ahead of Bama, OU and UGA in SOS.

Whether that’s an accident or not is debatable but it’s greatly enhancing the resumes of B10 schools in the rankings.

I doubt we get in with 3 losses. I know the committee used that as an excuse last year for the ACC but it will not bode well for us this year.

If we beat AU but not a&m I think TTU will have to win to help us which they should. UGA, Ole Miss, OU, and a&m currently if they win out will be in. OSU, IU, and Oregon should be in if they win out. ND & a G6 are in. That is 9 spots. If TTU wins out it will probably eliminate a second team from the BG12 from getting a spot. But if BYU beats TTU I think they both get in and the ACC will grab the last spot.

we should never schedule a p4 team ever. Notre dame beat no one ranked ahead of us.

I miss the BCS computer.

Let AI pick the teams because these idiots are clueless. Still look at losses more than wins...unbelievable.

We should cancel all P4 OOC games going forward and either schedule weak opponents or a bye week and just litter it through our SEC schedule.

Every SEC opponent gets a bye or a cupcake before playing Bama? Cool, we can do the same thing. This is one area that Byrne has to put his foot down over.

Tired of these teams not playing anybody and getting a boost in the rankings. After our gauntlet run, wasn't the record of our opponents something like 23-5 with 4 of those losses coming against Alabama?

We scheduled these power non conference games years in advance because sos meant something, time to drop them and add troy and south alabama.

we played 2 cupcake games
we played FSU and Wisky not the best teams but better than fcs teams
4-1 over current ranked teams.
Best win in the country @UGA
4 toughest schedule

Zero Respect

we don't need 9 sec games we need to do the big 10 route. Add some shitty teams and make the best teams only play 2 tough games each year.

It’s worked out for Ohio State. They haven’t played anyone with a pulse since the opening game against Texas.

BYU or Georgia Tech...... One of those teams will be the one the committee uses to screw over Alabama should they not win out. SEC Championship included.
