Colorado hasn’t really taken football seriously since that big scandal they had in the late 90s. They would be smart to hire Eric Bieniemy

i'm thinking one of the most important things to come out is msu's willingness to invest in assistant coaches. really doesnt matter who the head coach is, if the boosters wont anty up for quality asst coaches.
Then don't sign. Otherwise, when you put your John Hancock to a contract you are saying I agree.
Tell you what Tucker didn't do, he didn't go into the recruits home and tell the player, parents, and grandparents, I'm not happy with my contract and assistant coaches contract and I'm out of here as soon as possible. How do we know this?
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson said on Twitter that Tucker had told his grandson — Torren Pittman, a linebacker in Colorado’s 2020 signing class — that he would be staying in Boulder.

MEL TUCKER IS A CON MAN! He recruited my grandson to go to CU said he wasn’t going anywhere then ups and leaves. Sat there and lied to my face he wasn’t going anywhere!
So I want to beat him up today on social media.
What else can I do?

Was there a buyout?

Included in the contract is lucrative incentive compensation, in addition buyout information. Should Tucker terminate the contract before it expires (i.e.: he’s hired by another program), he’ll owe CU $5 million (if termination occurs during 2019), $3 million (during 2020), $1.8 million (during 2021) or $1 million (between 2022-23).

Rest easy, bamameister, bc,in all likelihood, Mel is a subpar HC and actually did Colorado a favor by bolting.

Thanks Carlton.
Colorado agreed with Tucker, that he he decided to leave, he would owe them money. Looks like they had an understanding with each other and both sides were fine with it.

My first two calls would be to Eric Bienemy and Bryan Harsin and then when they say no try to get Graham Harrell out of USC.

I knew there was a point in there somewhere.
I don't care what his contract says. He and his lawyer should have worried about that a year ago. Why does it matter to me? I was specifically referring to the guy's character or lack thereof.
Which is why I said: "A contract is a "compensation," the Colorado football program was his "investment" to make.
One year is a poor investment and leaving the kids right after signing day and assuring the players, and family you are there for the long haul is a poor investment and a lie. Assuring the Buff nation after the initial flirtation with MSU that he's all in was another lie. Telling the Boosters as late as Tuesday he was staying was another lie.
And your argument is what? He has the legal right? Ain't that grand.
Mine would be he invested very little. And when it comes to character, as a head coach, he has even less.

You cared about the contract here, but once it destroys your narrative and your outrage, then you don’t care. Just admit that you want to bitch about something

So you are going to keep walking past the answer? Is that kinda like whistling through the graveyard?
Mentioning the "contract" has nothing to do with what he was getting paid and had nothing to do with his buyout. It did have to do with his agreed on "compensation."
Fell free to chew on any part you want for as long as you like.

Are you whining about integrity??

Strange take for sure. Especially considering how no one involved in this enterprise shows much loyalty anymore.
Tucker didn’t do himself any favors with how it went down, but I can hardly blame him for improving his situation financially.

It’s crazy to think that he wouldn’t jump at the Michigan State offer at the end. He’s making more money than he deserves and everyone know it, including Tucker. Michigan State is behind the 8 ball, and they have to make a move like this.
Tucker knows that this scam will only work this time. Props to him for pulling it off

If it took you this long to frame the argument correctly, maybe you should just recuse yourself. You're obviously in unfamiliar territory.

You bounce around like a toddler or an old man who hasn’t taken his pills. Calm down, Mel nor anyone else cares that your pissy about integrity. College football is a business and integrity is out the window. Quit fooling yourself.
Edit: I believe you’re Bill Battle.

I bet you weren't making these kind of arguments about poor character and lack of integrity when Saban bolted on the Dolphins after 2 years and assured everyone in no uncertain terms that he would not be the coach at Alabama.

I hope your neighbors feel stronger about your "integrity" than that. Otherwise, they might want to lock up their lawnmowers when they finish.

Do you think coach Saban was lying?
By the way, it was interesting to hear coach Saban actually talk about his input with MSU. I wasn't aware of him making something like that public news when other coaches left for HC jobs. But, who knows, maybe he has. As a mentor to Mel Tucker, I believe that he knows very well some of the heat Mel's taking for the way he left Boulder. Is that the reason he made his public comment? I have no idea.
