There was some talk on twitter earlier about some some problems at MSU, but take that for what it’s worth.

The ESPN article on Dantonio that I posted above addresses that some.

They must have missed the ESP. Only 3 of their guys are unsigned. 2 unranked guys and the running back that goes to the same high school as Baker and Burroughs. They weren’t heavily in for any of the blue chip remaining recruits. MSU will be fine.... I mean outside the lawsuits.

MSU has been a war zone in the last few years throughout the entire athletic program and plenty of implications have been made concerning the football HC. I would think that gets you to thinking hard about retirement. He did have the good sense to say goodbye after his bonus and according to his contract, he earned fair and square. But who would be surprised if later on the football program is hit with nuclear fallout type of controversy?

Between Dantonio, Izzo and Nassar I can't imagine what is going on behind the scenes there. It must be madness.

What's this rumor going on about Flood and Golding may move on?

The most common rumors involve Kyle Flood and Pete Golding. That does not mean Nick Saban wants either man to leave. It also means nothing that so many Crimson Tide fans want Golding gone. Every offseason message boards are filled with bogus claims about certain coaches. Not long ago, one Tide fan argued Karl Scott had accomplished nothing as a Tide coach. In fact, 247Sports named Scott the No. 1, SEC recruiter of the 2020 class and No. 3 nationally.

Writes article over baseless rumors, even calls rumors baseless in article

This is classic clickbait for revenue, having written for BH personally before.

There is some chatter today about those two on BOL among guys who have some inside connections. Bottom line: Any further on-field staff changes will depend on whether Saban can get replacements he wants and it would happen before spring practice starts. "As much as some would like to see Golding replaced, Saban won't do it unless he can improve the situation."

It's kinda late for HC hires, not so much for staff.

Yea, staff hires don’t matter right now. I don’t think they are even allowed much contact with players. It’s the perfect time to make a change if coach can get the guys that he wants.

What's cooking with the assistant coaches that are jumping off the vol train?

Not long after news broke that director of player personnel Drew Hughes and defensive line coach Tracy Rocker both left Tennessee for South Carolina, outside linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator Chris Rumph is set to leave the Volunteers for the Houston Texans according to Austin Price of Volquest.

Rumph had been on staff at Tennessee for two seasons and was hired immediately upon Pruitt’s hiring in Knoxville. With his departure this offseason, the Vols are set to have four new on-the-field assistants next season as inside linebacker coach and special teams coordinator Kevin Sherrer left for the New York Giants and running backs coach David Johnson left for Florida State.

It would seem like a great time to rescue Derrick Ansley. Or be rescued by Derrick Ansley. Both work for me.
