Cecil is the last good sports writer, and a good guy. Really hope he gets better.

Prayers for Cecil.
He's always been so connected with the fans. Other writers are either ill-informed or condescending... not this guy.
I remember listening to him on Finebaum back during the Shula years when I was in school. The guy is hilarious but also so insightful if you can read between the lines. National treasure.

He could have been a national guy a long time ago but stayed here. We are lucky to have him.

Cecil was the best sports writer in Alabama since Al Browning. Browning left for a cushy job in Knoxville but Cecil never left despite plenty of opportunity. Loves UA and Tuscaloosa too much. Get well soon Cecil. Bama sports needs you.
