Will definitely receive backlash from this post but if we’re gonna have a board critiquing players and coaches no player or coach should be exempt.

Bryce is a great athlete and seems like an even better person, great representative of our University. He’s been an exceptional leader and tough competitor.

While he has accomplished all of these accolades like anyone he also has shortcomings.

Bryce’s style of play leads to excitement but also injury. Many of us had concern about him getting hurt this year because of him jogging instead of sprinting when he scrambled against Utah State. He continued doing that and against Arkansas it finally cost us. That play against Arkansas should’ve been a throw away before Sanders got near him but he chose to take an unnecessary hit that injured his shoulder. We saw in yesterday’s game him take unnecessary shots because of him jogging.

He also refuses to take 5-7 yard gains on the ground when there’s a clear running lane. If you watch UGA Stetson clearly takes off and gets what he can get before sliding to avoid the big hit. If Bryce would do that so many of our drives would be extended.

There’s also this narrative that our receivers suck. We already know our OC is maybe the worst in the country but we’ve also had open receivers that Bryce simply will not pull the trigger on. His check downs have been wide open all year and he refuses to look at them. I know his shoulder isn’t 100% but that has nothing to do with hitting your safety valve. Against LSU we had open receivers most of the game that weren’t thrown to.

Lastly is the snapping of the ball at 1 second. We give BOB a lot of hassle about it but most of it comes from Bryce calling an audible on 70% of plays.

What are y’all’s thoughts on this!

Bob has messed Bryce up so badly when he gets to the nfl he's gonna have to reset.

I, like many of us, have blamed it on BoB. But there is so much wrong on the offense, that without being in on film meetings, I don't know if its the WRS, the play calling, Young's issues, etc, etc. We have a new RB and he looks better/as good than the other one. Why has he not gotten more playing time? Why hasn't TY got more of a look at QB in a backup role when Milroe isn't a passser? Why can't we get ahead enough to see more of the backups? All I know is the offense is slow and not smooth and we need a person in there who can fix it........Lastly, the players seem not real excited about it or do not believe in what we are doing. I don't know if its the players mentality or they don't believe in the coaching. But we need new blood in the offense. We have declined there heavily from just a few years ago.

I hope our next QB is bigger and stronger.

Bryce is a really good player. But I think that he is limited by his arm strength. His style of play this season will get him destroyed in the NFL. He's an accurate passer but his timing is not great. He doesn't anticipate throws as well as Tua or Mac. Tua doesn't have a cannon but he anticipates throws like he's got a crystal ball. Bryce uses his legs to buy time for a guy to get wide open. That shite won't work as often in the NFL. It's great when the play breaks down and you have to create something. But you can't be highly successful doing that as your primary option.

You are absolutely right. We have yet to see him throw a receiver open this year. The NFL windows are so tight that’s a skill you have to have.

Bryce is still amazing. His shoulder injury, BOB, and Lack of dynamic recievers have effected him this year.

He does miss a lot of easy throws for quick yardage because he just can’t see it because of his height.

I think he will be a great NFL QB tho

Since it's already been said,

I think this is the problem. We haven't had an over top threat all season.

When Bryce had Jameson last year he was hitting him in stride 60 yards down the field on the regular

He can’t throw it but about 35-40 yards this year because of his shoulder

I agree he has been off his game but still do not think he has fully healed from the injury and our OC does not help at all.

Either way he is still listed as one of the top 3 draft picks come spring on the boards I have seen.

Bryce is the best QB to ever play at Alabama. Saying a player has areas for improvement is obvious. He is the only thing standing between where we are now and several more losses over the last two years.

When he is drafting top 5 in the draft I hope this board writes essays explaining they have insight that NFL teams do not.

By that time the same idiots will forget all they said like they always do.

They will be glowing about the great Bryce Young forgetting the blamed him for our OC being a moron.

No doubt. Not sure what he is being measured against. Tua's worst WR was Jerry Jeudy? Henry Ruggs? This year Bryce's best WR is Jacorey Brooks. His TE was better. His Oline wasn't >100 in sacks each year. Last year we had one scholarship running back for most of the year. He has areas for improvement. This is obvious. He has however carried this team his entire tenure at Alabama.

My thoughts are that Bryce is an incredible football player, tough as nails, and we are all lucky to have been able to watch him in a crimson uniform the last two years. Football players get injured. To say he shouldn't play like he plays is pointless. He's a gunslinger that makes eye popping plays when it seems like all hope is lost on the play. Is he perfect? No, there are no football players that are perfect. He is who he is: a goddamn Alabama legend.

Our fanbase is so incredibly spoiled, naturally, because of the dominance we've had for so long. It's going to be tough sledding for some of you mentally for the next decade.

THE BSC will NOT like your comments. BoB ain't it but there is a lot of green grass in front of #9 that he could take advantage of when things breakdown. It looks like he was never tackled in high school based on the way he tries to protect himself at contact.

I guess we can’t mention when the quarterback makes mistakes. Neither your comment nor my post had anything derogatory about Bryce but we’re receiving downvotes. If I started a thread on Golding it would be nothing but upvotes.

I wouldn’t say on the regular (several times the receiver had to stop his route or slow down until the ball arrived) but he was a lot more accurate on the deep ball last year.
