It was rumored he had already planned to drop out after the A&M game

Yes, yes you can. I mean Vanderbilt players are still trying. Tennessee players are still trying, Kansas players are still trying.
Just because this year wasn't as magical as last season does not give anyone a pass to quit on his team. In fact, that's when you buckle down.
You know the old adage, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going".

Arik really has to be kicking himself. He can see what could have been up close and personal Saturday night.

Abso-freaking-lutely you can. He called a team meeting to get LSU's season back on track a few weeks ago. Fast forward and he quit on them. What a great leader.

Sports Illustrated Link on Terrace Marshall calling team meeting
"I just wanted to remind them that we still got a mission ahead of us and we gotta keep playing and keep growing," Marshall said. "Through all of the hard times with this COVID stuff, we've gotta keep our eyes focused on the prize and that's to finish the season off the best way that we can."

LSU Board. Some mentioned Stingley. Doubt he would do that.

Why would he want to be here backing up Jahleel Billingsley?

How many of them have future in playing football after college? How many are risking 1st round money by playing 2 more or 3 more games?

Just dont call it opting out. He just plain quit.

Opting out would be if he feared Covid.

I can see the Cajuns being upset with 2 games in the season. But as far as I'm concerned, not so much.

Yeah I doubt Stingley does that. Isn't he a true Soph? Not even draft eligible yet if I am right.

He’d essentially be doing what Chase did this year and he’s still going to be a 1st round pick.

I don’t think he sits, but it wouldn’t be unprecedented.

I think any Bama player of his statue that left the scene of the crime like Marshall would feel the effects from the fan base for decades to come.

I still wonder how well Mo Smith is going to be remembered in Tuscaloosa as the years go by?
