That was embarrassing.

I’m more embarrassed to be an Alabama fan right now than I was at any point during the Shula years.

You should seriously reevaluate your life then bud... The Shula years were nightmarish...
We have become so spoiled as a fan base that it's embarrassing... I'm more embarrassed at our "fans" than anything else..

Agreed. Both coordinators need to go. Bring back McElwain and give me Muschamp (if he’s available).

The Shula years were a nightmare because of probation, external forces. Shula was what he was, he was never a great coach.
This year was the greatest waste and squandering of talent, the worst coaching I’ve seen under Nick Saban who is supposed to be the GOAT. It’s an embarrassment.

I'm never embarrassed to be a fan/alum because of the football team.
But this is about as pessimistic as I've felt about things in a long time.

Dude we lost by 4 points to the #1 team in the country. Shot ourselves in the foot to a VERY GOOD Auburn team and still only lost by 3 points.. We lost two 5-star linebackers, our Heisman contender QB to injury and the lack of depth caught up to us...
Take a breather and put things in perspective.. We are extremely spoiled... Can't make the playoffs and win the NC every year... You gotta be realistic.. Be a fan and cheer the kids on even when they lose... You think we feel awful, imagine how they feel... Bama will be back... We are fine and will be right back in the thick of things next year... Roll Tide..

Sorry, you are more than welcome to feel that way, but there were much deeper issues than just losing some guys to injury.
The old, program defining characteristics of this program are dead.

Golding needs to go. But I think it would be harsh to get rid of Sark. Nobody’s play calling is perfect every game, but I think he’s been pretty good. We just put up 45 in Auburn against a good defense with a backup QB.
We have to become a more disciplined, smart team, and that starts with Saban, obviously. We also have to figure something out on defense. I don’t care if we/the refs gave them 17, that was a brutal defensive performance against a limited offense. They had like 4 plays and no exceptional playmakers.

This loss was embarrassing. We compeltely melted at every spot it counted. That’s coaching.
We played two ranked teams this year and lost to both. No excuses for that when you have the talent that we have.
The whole identity of our program is supposed to be winning in the 4th quarter, discipline, taking care of the little things. That isn’t our identity anymore and it shouldn’t matter who the QB is.

People don't realize how fortunate we've been the past 11 years. It's going to be a rude awakening for some of you when Saban hangs it up.

SOG thanks for kind of summing up my thoughts in your above post. I got carried away with a couple of my posts here about being embarrassed, and yes for sure we as a fanbase starting with myself are spoiled AF. But it’s not just about the Iron Bowl, LSU or any other single game this season. Starting with the loss to Clemson last season, something about this program is off. The process doesn’t seem like the process anymore.

Losing is one thing. You can’t win them all. But to look so undisciplined, unprepared, and just outmatched in November with a million 5 stars is pathetic and falls directly on Saban.

Totally agree NAL.
Nobody is saying this is the Shula era again, but to act like there isn't something fundamentally different from the last decade is just trying to trick themselves.

I’m firmly aware of what it was like between stallings and Saban. But I can also see that there are major issues that need to be fixed. Next year is a watershed year.
