Rutgers losing to UMass 24-7 at halftime at home. Rutgers is a 29-point favorite.

BoB was the worst OC bama has had since Bruce Ariens.

I caught a lot of flack for saying this back then. He blew on of our most talent offensive rosters and people were defending him

Bill O Brien is absolute arse but he doesn’t have anything to do with Rutgers except that he coached Lonergan

Yeah I mean anyone watching BoB waste Bryce and Gibbs would tell you he should be tried for war crimes against football.

Idiots would point toward the numbers but if you watched the games it was so clear how bad he was. He cost us a championship

You are right. Lonergan played for him last year at Boston college. Bill O’Brien is still the worst OC Bama had in 40 years going back to Ray Perkins era (when I was at UA).

He was one of the least creative playcallers I've ever seen. Saban's worst OC.

That OL was horrible.

We had a converted center playing RT.

I’m just saying their scheme has to be put in context of the players they had to work with.

I mean yes he had Bryce, but the OL was bad and one of the years post injury BY couldn’t push the ball downfield so we ended up running something that was clearly not what we came into the season intending to do.

I defend Grubb and DeBoer to a degree on the same grounds. We had massive limitations due to the OL and Milroe. I’m still not convinced we were even able to bench him due to his NIL contract and then he moves on and Ty shows what the passing game could look like but gets hurt so we end up with what we finished the season with last year which was frankly a nonfunctional offense.

I don’t think we were running Kadyn Proctor for giggles, I think we had a completely non functional OL and the coaches were trying to throw the kitchen sink at the issue to keep the offense moving.

People always want to make it black or white but when you get into the weeds there’s a lot of context.

Didn’t Bob bring his OL coach with him? And he was fired after one year?

Yeah the guy was horrible, but I don’t think Stoutland could’ve made some of those guys competent given where we were trying to play them.

All that can be true and him still be a horrible OC. His route trees were predictable and repetitive.
