Let’s Go! Get In The Game!

The competitive challenge is what keeps us going. It's what makes players give their all for 40 minutes (sometimes even longer). It's what excites and motivates us. We all see ourselves as part of a greater cause – as part of the team.

That's real. It's vital. It matters.

I have been so impressed with our players this season. They fight hard every minute of every game. They bounce back when things aren't going well. They don't watch the scoreboard to decide whether, or not, they should stay focused and intense.

Now is the time for YOU to get in the game.

Starting now, we need to match the effort and intensity of our players. For our program to reach its potential, our team needs you to be enthusiastic, loud and strong. Most of all, you need to be in Coleman Coliseum tomorrow night at 8 p.m. when Alabama plays Illinois in the first round of the NIT.

This game is more than a chance for a postseason victory by our team - it's also a chance to show the nation that we are unwavering in support of our players and our program. We need to pack Coleman Coliseum.

We all want our team to reach the level of success that we expect, to rank among the national elite, not just one of the better teams in our league. To do that, we need to match the effort of our players.

It's time for all of us to step up our game, to give it our all. As a fan, a booster, a supporter, a staff member, an alumnus, a former player – whatever your connection to our program is – you need to be a part of this effort.

Every one of us needs to be "all in" in every way to achieve the basketball success that our heritage and our history proves we can attain. This is our challenge. It transcends the transition to a new head coach. All of us have a role in whatever success we have.

This is your program. Take ownership of the situation. Show up and be loud in support of your players. Show them you care by matching the effort they've given all season.

This game provides us with an opportunity to unite and show the nation that Alabama basketball is strong and unified. It may be the last chance this season for you to show up and provide some energy and positive momentum.

We have traditionally been one of the strongest programs in the SEC. You - our fans - have been critical to that success. Tuesday night we have a chance to not only support our players who have continued to fight under tough circumstances but also to show the nation who we are.

Our basketball team will be on the national stage at a critical moment in the program's history. A packed house would make a strong statement, not only to our team on the court, but also to everyone watching - recruits, former players around the nation - even coaches who may be interested in leading our program.

You can make a difference. You can say you were a part of the dawn of a new era. Someday, you will be able to say that you were there, that you helped.

Don't miss the opportunity.

Roll Tide!

I hope we can at least pack the first row.

Seriously, it would look good to prospective coaches and players to see us provide a great atmosphere tomorrow, albeit for just the NIT.

If we can get a good showing from the Birmingham Bama fans, Coleman will look full on tv. I mean this really is an opportunity to look good as a fanbase.

It has always been my opinion that the lack of support from fans has been one of the larger detriments to our program. If the administration would actually man up and give the students premium seating and work to improve the overall atmosphere and if we had enough fans who actually believed in making an impact on the game instead of just being there and watching, those two things would have as much if not more of an impact on program performance than just bringing in a new coach. The admin and fans need to be involved in providing an atmosphere that players would want to be a part of and feel appreciated. Just my two cent.

I was there when we played Maryland at home (believe it was Lacey's last game) in the NIT. Students were on spring break and it was first come first serve for the student seats and it actually ended up being a pretty rowdy atmosphere. Everyone was singing, cheering, and on their seats the whole time.

General admission creates a fun atmosphere. It'd be nice if they could find a way to do this during the regular season.

Side thought: Does anyone know why we have standing room risers for students.... on the opposite side of the student section? We barely have enough students to warrant splitting them up. I have to imagine they were given this luxury during the heights of Mark's Madness when we were overflowing. For now it just looks sad having a handful of our most passionate students standing in sparse company... on the other side of the court from their peers who could use some energy.

I think that was something they did in Grant's first year.

Something needs to be done about the seating though. The students have to have a better setup.

It's amazing to me that EVERYONE agrees with this and yet nothing ever changes....It's like daylight savings time, that shite sucks, no one likes it or can give legitimate cause for it, but yet every fall we'll turn our clocks back...stupid.

God damn, that picture reminds me of when I saw him walking down University after the Auburn game. He was all pissed off about the Dixieland chant

For real though, that hour forward screws everything up.
