Interested in hearing what everyone thinks. IMO:

2009: RBs
2011: LBs
2012: OL
2015: DL
2017: DBs

Which means, IMO, five different titles with five different position groups being the best.

Of course all of those are definitely up for debate.

In general, I agree with you.

I need you to convince me why the 2015 DL was better than the 2016 DL, though.

We didn't win a Natty in 2016. Also it's not a comparison of years position groups.

I don't. But the 2016 DL didn't win a title and what this thread is about is what was the best position group on each championship team.

So for the 2015 team the best group was DL, IMO. Had 2016 won I would've said DL too. Though it was really close between DL and LB because when I think of that DL I also think of guys like Anderson and Williams on the end of it and they were technically LBs. Obviously Reuben was awesome too at ILB.

My bad. I misunderstood the OP.

Good choice.

I may go with DB's in 2009, Marquis Johnson Really came into his own and we had 3 good CB's and two very good safeties - OL was good that year as well. RB's rocked of course but since a group of db's is more people it seems more important.

2012 I don't think there is a debate, 2011 I think is solid at LB as well. 2015 DL I think is a solid choice and 2017 is Db's for me due in large part to injury

I think 2018's OL will be the best we've had since 2012. I don't know if it can be that good, but definitely could be the best since.

It Should be. I think Alex Leatherwood, Jonah Williams, and Jedrick Wills are all future 1st rounders.

Hope Saban plays Wills & Leatherwood next season. BEASTS!

2017 should have been the receivers.

Aside from 2016 not winning a title?

2015 had a lot more depth. A'Shawn Robinson, Jarran Reed, D.J. Pettway, and Darren Lake.

2017 could have been the receivers, ridiculous talent. There could be 4- 1st round receivers on this year's team.

Too bad the talent was wasted until the end.

Still gonna be great having Ruggs, Jeudy and Smith back next year with Tua slingin it. Good lord our offense will be deadly.

I really didn't notice this season, but how are the young bucks' blocking skills?

Smith and Jeudy laid some fools out this year on blocks.

I was told all season that they couldn't catch.
