re: BDS Atmosphere

For years now, I have been concerned about the diminishing in state population. FINALLY, the UA admin is showing signs that they are too. In state students applying for this coming Fall semester, are able to get scholarships with an ACT score as low as 21 as long as they also have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Of course, the higher the ACT, the higher the scholly's value. Makes sense. You can also find more propaganda on UA's Youtube channel directed toward in state students. Just this last Fall, Auburn enrolled about 500 more freshmen in state students than UA.

It's not like this is an Alabama-only problem. Every Saturday I tune into college football I see empty seats in the student sections. This generation just isn't into college football like past ones were and still are. And even outside the student sections there are empty seats.

And I still contend there are just as many empty seats around BDS as there are in the student section. It just looks worse in the student section because students move down to better seats as people leave, so the empty seats are congregated in certain areas instead of spread out. Hell, the entire row in front of me at last year's Arkansas game was empty except for 2 people, and these were 30 yard line seats in the lower bowl. By the end of the 3rd quarter, I'd say about 30% of the section had left.

That's fine, but just remember that you have no right to a ticket because you're a student. If you did, there would be over 30,000 seats in the student section. You have no more of an inherent right to a ticket than any taxpayer in the State of Alabama, because after all, they are the ultimate owners of the stadium. So maybe the next year you can point that middle finger to the TV screen.

Whether it's the students or the rest, we'll never have a crowd as enthusiastic as LSU. If you've ever been to a Bama game there, you know this. The whole stadium starts singing Louisiana Saturday Night about 45 minutes before kickoff, and they don't letup, unless the game gets out of hand, of course. BDS will never be like that. It's reality.

Meh, I've attended LSU/Bama in Death Valley in 2008, 2012, and this year, and several big games at BDS since 2006, and the difference isn't that big. It is naturally a little bit louder and crazier than BDS, but the experiences are not that much different.

I will say though, that I've only been to a few home games since 2014, and they weren't all that electric, because they were all blowouts. I doubt the atmosphere at LSU is that much different in total blowout games.

how loud are they in the bars and frat houses? can the teans still hear them?

Well away games are always more fun.

When we lost ? The first half it rained on me and it was cold. People went inside the zone because of it for a bit. Second half was good.
